I have tried a chilli made with quorn once. It wasn't too bad either really.

It is weird that they make meat alternatives that look just like meat. Ish.

    Nothing wrong with frankfurters <ok>

Or bratwurst. I am quite partial to sausage in all its varieties.

    <ok>

Ironic you choose Quorn then, which is made in a vat and bonded with egg whites. No nasty unhealthy and unethical meat for me please, just artificially grown food mixed with the blood of dead baby chickens ;)

Seriously tho', fair play to you if you can eat it - I've tried making spag bol with Quorn mince before and it always ended up tasting ****e. I'd rather have a reasonable amount of meat every so often than a poor substitute all the time!

Not that weird tbh. Quorn is essentially synthetic meat, grown in a vat and completely artificial in origin. Almost no one would eat it if it didn't look at least semi familiar to what they know.

When I was vegetarian I used to make chilli with tvp mince.
This stuff was pre quorn. It was nice too, took in all the spices and flavours.

Not as nice as beef by any means but definitely edible.

You were a vegetarian? I'm stunned.

Was one for nearly ten years.

    I've mentioned this many times.

The 'veggie' fry up was lovely <ok>

I'm not really a fan of Quorn mince - it tends to suck the flavour out of any dish you put it in. Prefer Quorn pieces or fillets.

Gonna be making curry tonight - couple of scotch bonnets and a level tea spoon of hot chilli powder should do the trick.

    During my twenties.

Fell off the waggon one boxing day when I was 28 with some hung over turkey and Cumberland sausage.

I might not be able to go to that Christmas concert anyway. Apparently parents can only go on the Tuesday.

I've asked for a slot to be held open for me under special circumstances but if not a pint with those reprobates could be possible.

Have a look at the Monmouthshire on line. Otherwise, got the second county card so shall I book Celtic Manor?

I don't mind where we play. Give both courses a call and check prices. The roman road is cheap if we played at 11:40 it's £11 on tee off times.

If you don't go to the concert then yeah we could go for a cheeky pint with them.

I'm not playing that late, we'd be finishing in the dark. That's why it's so cheap.

Half ten latest. Any time between nine and half ten.

Could do the 10.40 one for eighteen quid.

No time more beer at all though if I end up going to this bloody concert, not even a sharp one straight after.

    Go for that though.

Have you checked prices with your county card? As we won't have to pay in advance then. If the weather turns ****.

It's £20 each at 10.00am but they want payment in advance. Looks like that's unavoidable.

We could wait till the day and just turn up? I know that won't be a problem at the Monmouthshire anyway, which is a very nice alternative.

That's ok with me. Either way. The Monmouthshire is £20 each as well with your county card also. See what the weather forecast looks like Monday. Have you called the Monmouthshire? As may be worth checking there are no tee boxes and winter greens. There definitely isn't at Celtic manor.

Think we can wait till Monday, no point guessing the weather as yet.

We'll have a lok then. I considered Usk but they've had the greens done an are on mats so **** 'em.

Can't see anywhere being on winter greens yet.
