Spot on, but we as fans retain the right to be bemused, we've already seen many get their fingers burnt with us so I whole heartedly approve of thrift and value for money. FFS, the only expertise I have in life is Total cost of Ownership BS! However, what never fails to amaze me is how succesful Buisnessman forget all their Business logic when entering Football, and the very few that don't, normally get thoroughly chastised by the fans! Question - How on earth would you not put a performance KPI to any manager you might have, let alone one that your paying a few Mill a year for? It's as if Football and Top finance are a World unto themselves.
Maybe they need a material for the sequal called "Another four years".........? Seriously i cant see the way out of this mess. If they keep sparky it will cost a lot and if they sack him that will cost too. Either way our road goes straight to championship (with hughes certainly)with a very expensive , yet not very motivated team. Then again we are QPR, so another twist of tale is waiting just around the corner.
The club may stick with Hughes for the next 3-4 games, but if wins aren't coming by then, it really would be madness to keep him. The players will become demoralised - their play will be badly affected - fans will get on the players' backs - the players will start blaming the manager - he loses the dressing room... Rodney Marsh may not be far wrong about the board's intent - Hughes may get 4 games - he may have bought this by agreeing to a cap on his dismissal compensation. I hope he has agreed that, at least.
I have no powers to alter the club, sign players or sack the manager. Only the owners can do this. So until anything changes I'll be supporting TF, MH and the players 100%. There really is no point getting angry or upset anymore over something that is completely out of our control. If we go down, we go down. All we can hope for then is that we do a Newcastle or West Ham and not a Portsmouth. Life isn't all that bad really....... ;-)
Now that they have taken off the straight-jacket that I've been incarcerated in since the final whistle on Saturday, I can type something: Fllllllllllllllllllluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuubbbbbbbbbbbbbb!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, no, get off me, I am alright...
sb73, I've honestly now got beyond caring. mack is right, we can't do anything, we are just the mugs who contribute to the wages!! im resigned to the fact that we are going down. not going to stress over it anymore, just get the piss taken by everyone else and rightly so. we are as yappy said a laughing stock! but like you said, 26 games to try get at least one win!!
Totally agree with this. I did feel that MH's position was untenable after the performance on Saturday. However if the club need to keep him on, for whatever reason this may be, we do still need to get behind the team as much as possible. I thought that the Blackburn fans helped drag the team to relegation last season. I am worried that we could be drifting towards the same thing. We can't just allow ourselves to become obsessed with protesting against MH at the expense of supporting our team. I'm not suggesting that we give a standing ovation after awful performances but we can't allow ourselves to chant for MH out when/if after we score, playing well in periods of the game, or god forbid we actually win a game.
i won't support Hughes for the sole reason it would be supporting failure. but that's just my opinion. don't see how its going to get any better than this.
That dosent sound like the spirit of a man who battled with the FA for years in order to bring a modern approach to coaching!
The players no longer support Hughes. The club asked him to resign. He refuses. He stays. We go down. I am resigned. Hello Brighton away day.
i keep the support of my team and my attitude to work completely separate as they have nothing to do with each other!
i have a funny feeling in a months time this board will be feeling slot more positive with 13-15 points are on the board, the players know that they have to get there fingers out, this i feel is the big turning point, mark my words, i predict a draw at old trafford, think positive
