I'm trying to think of an old lady's name that sold tabs at the top of Embleton avenue in horsely hill South Shields.
Me mam used to send me up to buy them in the 70's .
She had a lovely black Labrador i used to take for walks down the beach, think me mam got the dog for her.

Me nan and granda lived there and a few years ago I was at a scooter rally in Rhyl North Wales.
I heard this lad talking and recognising the accent i asked him where he was from.

    Embleton avenue South Shields lol.
He remembered my nan and grandad.
    Small world lol.

What's the deal with menthols, if I'm going to risk my life on something I'm damned if it's going to be inhaling concentrated extra strong mints vapour.

I never liked the taste of menthols. I’d rather have the taste of good old chemically impregnated tobacco without the artificial flavouring thank you very much.
I also remember buying a couple of packets of More. Red packet and the cigarette was long and brown. Then probably figured out they were aimed at lasses.

Aye they were nice them, I tried pipe smoking before I was fourteen, used to love all the aromas in a proper tobacco shop. Did a tour in Bosnia, was at a place called Ploce in Croatia, started a pipe club on that tour, loads of guys rocking up with some amazing shaped pipes...lol.

From what I know Falcon has been one of the top tools for years, personally the ones I had were purchased merely for outrageous design. I had a Sherlock Holmes style number that I was fond of, no idea as to what make it was.

I cleaned my pipe after every smoke I smoked the whole pipe full in one go
I was at a stage when I smoked up to 6 pipe full a day
    Eventually I had to stop

Tried smoking the odd tab as a kid at house parties and such but never liked it. Sure it made me barf, or that might gave been the bottle of sherry and attempt at a hamlet.

Started smoking when i went to Uni, but not until the second year when I started partying like there was no tomorrow. Markborough light mostly, at one point Marlborough Red, even tried the old Galouises (spelling?) blue and a fair bit of weed at my hedonistic heights.
Then got my health back on track but went through various smoking stints during my twenties and thirties. I played a lot of sport, so wouldn't touch em unless on big nights out, or on holidays abroad, when my resolve would weaken.

I enjoy smoking, but recognise the damage it does so it's very moderated now. Maybe one or two proper Cuban cigars a year - although didn't fancy it this Christmas - and the ocassional evening rollie with a drink when i've got the fire pit going outside or away camping, thinking I'm Geronimo or summat.
But that's it....just as well with Covid.
Me Ma smoked Lambert & Butler but never in the house, accompanied by polo mints..
