I started off on Sterling! Anyone remember them ! Never really enjoyed smoking but it was the thing to do! Eventually gave up when I had a stinking cold and sore throat!
I remember Gladys the old woman around the corner from me used to sell single cigarettes to us on our way to school
Aye the lad in the little paper shop Oppisite St Marks church would do that and the lad in Hills would sell you 10 air pellets at a time for a couple of pennies
I've never smoked but I did used to smirk a lot when I was younger. I started in junior school but just the odd smirk behind the bike sheds. By the time I started work I was smirking 20 times a day. As i get older I find that I smirk a lot less and usually just at weekends.
Remember Sovereign in a gold packet Embassy American blend,Peter Stuyvesant, Rothmans and Dunhill international
My granny started me on the tabs when I was 12, used to get me 20 Peter stuyvesant, think they were the longest tabs going back in the day. Used to hide two in my socks, one on the way to school, one on the way back.
As kids we used to get these for Christmas - A chocolate smoking set please log in to view this image
In order to try to be cool ( failed) in my late teens Gauloises sp? Of course roll your own with an additive that was quite fragrant and dreamy
Sometimes used to run out of English ones on nights out in Germany, would end up getting lucky strikes or Marlboro etc out of a German tab machine, would be like a fcuking car exhaust the next day.
Did you used to smoke half of a ***, then nip it out and put it back in the packet, then get it out later and light it up again. How classy was that?
When I was a nipper, on sparking up mates used to shout "dot" whoever shouted first got the last bit of white, someone would then shout "****" whoever shouted first got the glowing brown dog end.
