I love that Rafa now left and its not the same thing as him quitting. Give over. Did the club wish to speak to him about a new contract? Yes. Did they offer him a contract on the same bumper pay? Yes. So he jumped ship for money and left the ship with countless holes in it. For money. Nothing else, people need to stop deluding themselves. There were other factors but he made the error when responding to the suggestion that it was about money when he complained they offered him the same salary as 3 years ago. Would that be the 6m a year would it? One of the best paid around at our level, to deliver just under mid table. He used the China deal to try and strong arm the club. They played his game of poker and sat tight. Same as he jumped ship from China under the banner of Covid. Managed to get them to agree mutual consent so he could maintain his mantra of "I never quit". Except he ****ing does <laugh> Nothing to do with his cack performance I suppose. I'm sure the 24m he gathered in a two year period helped him get over the terror of Covid.

There is naive and then there is blinded by love. With our lot its a mixture of the two when it comes to Benitez.

Probably because that’s not the comment he’s making in that video clip. Helps if you stick to what he’s actually saying and then you might see what the issue is.

He does say it in the full interview.

It's always important not to be selective remember? 18 games was too select for example, but you're happy to judge based on only 4.

What he said on that clip is the apparent issue. Not what he said in other parts of the conference. Helps to stick to the facts.

I haven’t judged Brucie on 4 games nor have I ever posted such a view. I’ve judged him on 2 seasons and 4 games. Please feel free to screen shot or produce any screen shot to the contrary. I feel that’s a fair period to judge him over. I’m sure you’d agree, don’t you.
