I do think we will have a decent season, couple of shrewed buys by Brenadan, then I can see 14th or 15th a very realistic finish.
Well we shall see, not being pessimist here, but very few promoted sides stay up , and without going through each season, I don't remember any play off team spending more than a season up, be happy if that is untrue by the way
14th or 15th place in the Premier League is a respectable place to end up for their first season. That is where Bolton and Blackburn ended up so it would be very commendable....of course any higher would be a welcome bonus but I can't see any relegation fears at all....
i have a lot more faith in Brendan than most i can see on here, A top 10 finish is not that difficult when you look at what we have as opponents, its hard to find 6 or 7 sides that i would class as super sides and the rest we are on par with if not better, remember we were odds on to go down the last time we played top flight football where we finished 6th having been top all over the xmas period and we did that without any money...
I've gone for 14th-15th, as long as we can keep scoring goals and bolster our defense with a signing like Mills I don't think we'll struggle too much.
Plumped for 14-15th,but that could mean being a point from 10th or 20th! There's usually one team that has a shocking season ala West Ham this yaer and i can't see us being that team and I certainly believe we can compete with lower half teams
14-15 i think will be a brilliant season. with a few shrewd signings to give us a bit more strength i think this can realisticly be achieved. 12 wins would be brendans minimum target i think with at least 6 draws, that would see us stay up probs. If we can get them wins before the the run in to the end of the season then i think we can get 14-15 comfortably, with the pressure off the team they can then relax and play more fluently than they would do if chasing desperately for points to stay up.
So most of us seem to think we'll finish somewhere between 14th - 17th but i would like to think that Llanelli Jack is spot on
What a pessimistic bunch you lot are. 82% of you think they will finish in the bottom 7. I just hope you're all wrong. But I suppose you all hope you're wrong as well.
Well we should be realistic, it's a huge league with huge teams, landing up 17th would be a result, anything above that and I would be estatic honestly, staying up has got to the number priority bar none, it's worth another £50m to the club
Interesting to see we are pretty close to where most of us thought we would be!! The Jacks now their stuff aye!.. please log in to view this image
Phil, I said 14th or 15th but think we could get anywhere between 10th and 12th. I don't know but I've a funny feeling we will get a point of Man City next week.
Yes I think we will to, and so do Sky! but I have us to get at least another 9 points, before the end of the season!....... .......... please log in to view this image
I'm sticking with my 8/9. Only 3 points adrift. But anyone currently 7th-14th could finish 7th. All it needs is a good run. It's like there are three leagues at the moment. 1-7, 7-15, 16-20 (Liverpool seem to be drifting from the top to the middle). Let's hope win can win the middle section. That would be a huge achievement in our first season. We're only 6 points behind Liverpool.
cant believe i never responded to this, at season start i would have said 14th-15th, now maybe a wee bit better or the same
from where Phil? must wins are blackburn and wolves at home, point at least at qpr and bolton away, then iffys re everton and newcastle at home and fulham away (4 out of 9?), then city, united, spurs and liverpool (maybe 2 to 5 pts?) so 14 makes 47, go have a bet on that lol
