Personally, IF the player hears it, report to the ref. If the ref does nothing, or it happens again, I'd ask to be subbed. Players are NOT paid to take that kind of crap.

It is not up to the players to deal with fans. It is up to the police and officials. Coin thrown at Carra, he throws it back, tat is worse tan name calling ffs, yet carra got done. If a player knows this then it is their own fault. You are replacing logic with undignified reaction. Would it be great to have a serious amount of games stopped? Who wants to sign a player that walks off regularly for being abused?

Walking off is NOT the answer. If he had a word with the officials, and they the fourth and him the police, the game can continue whilst the offenders are being marched off to a cell for the day and a nice court date afterwards and the other non offending fans still get to see the match.
