Gnev was not THAt good a defender in all honesty.

I think the issues here havent been the fullbacks as much as a shoite midfield and in Evra's case vidic.

I would go as far as to say that compared to G nev rafael is better in almost all departments, the only one he lacks in is being a **** <laugh> to th eopposition

Except at Rafaels age Neville was being dropped in favour of a winger because he wasn't good enough and Irwin had just made the mighty step up to playing in a relegation fodder team.

You seem to have this perception that a 21 year old fullback who very occasionally switches off is an unforgivable failure and then go on to compare him to defenders who were no better than him at his age.

You also choose to ignore the vast majority of games where he doesn't screw up and I notice a distinct lack of lunging in from Rafael this year and more effort to get back after overlapping. Signs that he is improving.

I also don't see Anderson going anywhere. Scholes and Giggs will probably leave and with Fletcher looking like a long term illness I can't see SAF buying that many CM's. My guess is SAF will buy one or two CM's and he will give Anderson another season to prove himself. If he doesn't he'll be gone next year.

United giving Anderson another season is like Liverpool giving Dogleash and Mandy another chance to prove themselves. Total waste of time.

Fan, that is frankly bollocks. Gary Neville was comfortably the best right back in world football for a few years.

I like Rafael, think hes got the potential to be the best right back in the world soon enough. Yes hes rash and at times his lack of experience shows through but when he plays we have much more about us on the right hand side, when he doesnt we seem to only play down the left and Valencia or Nani on the right seem pointless.

Hes eager to impress I think and this sometimes causes the mistakes but hes also not half bad at last ditch tackles, doesnt always get them right but more often than not he will get the ball and turn defence into attack.

Wouldnt be surprised if he ended up a winger though.

No, i don't see it as unforgivable. All i am saying, IN MY OPINION, is that he is not a good enough defender to play right back for us at the highest level. Out of interest, what relevance does where Irwin came from have to anything? Rafael's lack of concentration and poor positioning cost us the fourth goal v Everton. A very expensive mistake as it goes. Now before you jump down my throat, i am not saying that HE cost us the league. I'm just highlighting the margins we're talking.

Because at 21 im sure he'd just moved from leeds to oldham wasn't it?

The great D.Irwin was available on a free and none of the big clubs even looked at him despite playing several seasons already. Know why?

That's right, because at 21 he wasn't good enough. Whereas Rafael most certainly is.

Not saying Rafael is certain to be world class. But you can't slate him for making a few mistakes then say "he's no neville or Irwin" when he's easily better than both of them were at his age.

You probably would have sold Johnny Evans 2 years ago because he occasionally switched off or made mistakes. Declaring with arrogance he will never be good enough.

It's clearly hard for you to get so here goes in basic terms; In my ****ing opinion Rafael will not make it as a world class full back. Got that? How arrogant of me to have a different opinion to you. <ok

Then your like, he's rubbish! Dennis Irwin and Nevillie in their prime were better!

Now your like: Well I just think he's **** and will never improve!

Since your pathetic attempts to justify that opinion were shown to be stupid im left once again asking the question, did he sleep with your sister then?

****ing hell you ridiculous childish Prick, is it so difficult for you to take someone else's opinion without spitting your dummy out? Not once did i say he was rubbish you illiterate imbecile. I actually said he might be a decent winger, i just don't believe he will become a top drawer right back. This is a football forum, it's about opinion. I'm offering one, you're whining about someone else's. The only thing you've 'proved' is an inability take someone who disagrees with you.

Saying "I think Rafael isn't good enough" is an opinion.

Its an incredibly stupid opinion and one completely lacking any evidence to back it up. What feeble evidence you did provide was quickly proved to be bull**** since then your now crying about your right to an opinion. Which is fine, your welcome to your opinion and to express it on a forum and im welcome to point out how stupid it is.

    However.

Is not an opinion, your stating that as a fact. Therefore I was even more welcome as a United supporter to question if you had any real evidence to back up your stupid claims. It turns out you didn't.

Show me where you proved anything.

    Good luck.

    By the way, ALL of the below is utter fabrication, I did not say one ****ing word of it you fantasist;

If you genuinely feel you can 'win' an debate with me then how about you don't make **** up you twat.

And while we're at it, it's you're, not your.

You completely failed to back up your claim he falls asleep significantly, your comparison to Irwin and Neville was stupid because at his age one was getting dropped for a winger and the other couldn't attract interest from a top club even for free. Unless you were comparing him to them in their prime which would be equally dumb.

You can't back up your declaration of a fact with a single noteworthy reason other than "well I don't think he will" so instead you're trying to deflect matters by crying about your right to an opinion and even stooping so low as to pick up on spelling. Well done!, you showed me! Not.

What about Johnny Evans? were you slating him last season for switching off and making mistakes? How about that Cleverly? he's no Scholes or Keane. Must be ****, lets sell him. Better buy a new Cb as well. That Phil Jones will never make it as first choice CB.

That's an opinion though and your welcome to it.

You didn't try to back it up with ridiculous claims or state it like a fact.

I'm with you Ruffian, the two Brazilian twins are accidents waiting to happen. As you pointed out, they have been with us long enough to have improved to a level acceptable to United's standards but it ain't going to happen. The same can be said for Park, Fletcher, Berbatov, Owen, Anderson, etc. The only good thing that will come from City winning the title this season is Fergie will have a mass clear out . We need to spend big and bring in at least 4 or 5 players of top quality, just to stand still, as you could easily add the retirements of Giggs and Scholes to that list. If I'm honest, we have been dire for most of the season and it is amazing to think we could still win the title next week. Fergie is not stupid ( in fact he is BRILL19NT ! ) and he knows what he has to do but he has been loyal to those players, that have served him well, for long enough. I can't wait for the challenge next season and to do to City what we did to Arsenal, Blackburn and Chelsea after previous seasons where we were " finished and in decline ". Having said all that, QPR need a point to guarantee staying in the premier league next season, so even though the " Fat Lady " maybe rehearsing, I for one can't hear her singing yet !!!!!

Well said but I fear she is getting ready for her performance and the stupid thing is United allowed her to walk onto the stage. But we will wait until the final ball is kicked.

Having read it, what you're saying is that me having the opinion that i don't think Rafael will make it as a top drawer full back is me not providing evidence, whereas you saying he will is you proving me wrong. I said all along it was my opinion, how the **** do you KNOW he WILL be this world class defender you have 'proved' he will be? The bit at the bottom? No, I've never said that. Never have. If i thought it, I'd have said it in my original post. You really are quite the prick.
