OK the rules were broken. Reading FC were guilty. The FA dished out their brand of 'justice' - but did the FA REALLY have to be killjoys ?
I am unaware of any public 'disorder' as a result of the incident - which followed a 'special' event in the life of the club- rather like the traditional end of season pitch invasions that follow promotions. No 'real' harm was done. I'm sure that common sense could have prevailed - with 'suspended' sanctions - rather than a hammer used to crack a nut.
What next from the FA -- clubs being fined for exceeding noise levels if their fans cheer too loudly when they score a goal - Let's hope that Mr.Scally has lots of money left for such events this season.
