Is there a South Hull? Working from the centre of Hull there is an obvious east, west and north, south of the centre of Hull is the river Humber, hence why no one lives in south Hull

As it's not the City Centre, Admirals Walk must be south Hull, surely.

Let's take this argument the whole way, anyone living in Hull must have webbed feet & gills as it is the river....the land is Kingston (or Kings Town) upon the river Hull

I suppose to give the club name a little more class & make it less common or lousy Allam could have gone for a name change to Hull Kingstonians (well it would certainly have pissed of the FC fans even more)

If you're going the whole way, you need to go earlier than that.
The City and County of Kingston is/was the official title foisted upon it, but the name change has never been fully accepted and people settled on naming the City after the local river. Nominally the City is Hull and the water way is usually referred to as the River Hull.

You could go back further & say it should be Wyke as that would probably have been it's name......I believe it was something like Wyke on Hull

Bits were but not all. The boundaries have moved over time. Scullcoates was one of the earlier large settlements in what has become Hull, and is I believe still the largest Parish, but it's a relatively recent addition. I'm not sure how far the original charter covered. It could have just been almost Myton and Drypool?

Wasn't Ferriby one of the first settlements due to being the crossing point from near Winterton?

Possibly but Ferriby has never really been part of Hull ......it has always been far enough away from the settlement which grew around the river Hull

Not that long ago, Ferriby was in the delightfully named wapentake of Hullshire. Although admittedly, that didn't make it a part of Hull, although what is now Swanland and Raywell were.

For clarity, I do hope you take the comments in this and the other thread as they're intended. It's just a chat. I know sometimes things can come over poorly when written.

Don't mention Swanland !! The property prices there compared to Ferriby is similar to the comparison of prices in Hull to Ferriby !!

Oh & I never take anything too seriously on t'interweb forums etc

Just had a quick Google and found this link, which puts Ferriby and other villages originally under the control of the Mayor of Hull up until 1889. I need to read it again, but it seems to be saying that Myton and Drypool became part of Hull after Ferriby had. It says Scullcoates was incorporated late on, as I thought. I could have read it wrong, I'm getting weary.

Where did I say he should increase our debt level by 30m?

The entire point was you said he had no reason to wipe out debt, and I pointed to a pretty good reason as to why he should consider it if he harbours any hoped of getting us back to the PL. As I began by saying, I doubt he will write off our debt, thus we're stuck with them for a while as we won't be getting back to the PL unless we can sign some major players on the cheap.
