So many to choose from. First started going just before the Furphy days, and they were impressionable years because of my age. The 1-0 win over Plymouth which secured promotion was the only time I have ever been onto the hallowed turf. The cup wins then against Liverpool and Stoke were something special, and another game I remember well was our first win in the old second div. 3-0 against Villa. Those from the golden years have already been mentioned but the 2-1 win at Old Trafford was a bit special - along with Kaiserslautern and Southampton. My favourite Watford goal was Scully's up at Old Trafford in 1968.
When we were in the fourth division we played WBA away in the league cup and lost 1-0. We played so well and certainly deserved something from the match. In those days we weren't very good and Ist Division teams didn't play their reserve sides. The travelling Hornets sang, "We're proud of you, " for the last 5 minutes of the game. The game was one of those great defeats.
