Refereeing can be quite a hazard as can being a spectator at some of the youngsters games! Many years ago I was down in Plymouth and I had had a hockey match for the navy in the morning. That day we were in Navy blue shirts and shorts. My mates lad was playing in some sort of cup match and naturally his Dad wanted to be there. So as soon as our game was over we just grabbed our kit and shot off to Exeter where his lad was playing, by car. Unfortunately the traffic was very heavy as a consequence we did not get to the game until near the end. For the last 5 mins or so, my mate watched the game and I parked the car.By the time I got back to the match it was all over and the lads were in the dressing room. I was just about to join them when an arm came round my neck and pulled me back from the corridor. It turned out to be one of the losing teams players Dad. He was shouting that it wasn't a penalty and his lad (or it may have been someone Else's boy for all I knew) should never have been sent off. I asked what the hell it had to do with me....he just said "this" and a size 24 fist come hurling my way. I managed to ward off the blow and returned the compliment 4 fold as you tend to do. The next thing I know is I have these two lads about 12 kicking the hell out of my shins. Then two of our police man friends were bouncing off my head. Then my mate and some of his friends joined in on top trying to get the police off me. You can imagine the melee all this was causing. I had only just arrived.......<laugh> Consequence......... the father was banned from youth matches for life. The boys were banned from youth matches until they were 18. Later appealed and reduced to 16 I believe. I got compensation from the police and a huge apology from the father and the boys not to forget compensation. It turned out he had just been made a magistrate and he had been stopped/dismissed or what ever it is, as you could not be one with that kind of conviction (assault) So for the father it was a expensive mistake.....just because he thought I was a referee.........Kids games are more dangerous than going to any professional game. <laugh>

Your point- as I have proved four times now- is 100% wrong and incorrect. It cannot even be used.

You on the other hand are a sad excuse of a human being who sits at home being a keyboard warrior, writing whatever nonsense comes into you head at other people who actually get up and leave their house- something which cannot be said for yourself.

In my life, I've lived in three countries (Norway, Denmark and now the United Kingdom). I speak three languages fluently, (Norwegian, French and now English.) I live, study at Uni, and do part time work in a new country. I've probably done more in a year than you've done in your whole life. Now, I'm being told I'm a "jobsworth" (I looked up the definition on wikipedia :p ) for sending off, on only one occasion ever, a young man who spat at an opponent, and started a fight, whilst swearing constantly.

Mate- I think you need to look at yourself before you say stuff like that. I think you describe yourself with a lot of your comments. You wrote on another thread the posts on another thread were a "bore". As Hermie said- oh, the irony ...

Maybe I'll give you some more words in Norwegian, which you won't understand, and then we'll see who's the most educated/whatever you're trying to say ..

Du er en dårlig unnskyldning av et menneske. Hold kjeft. Enjoy :)

Anyway, enough of that .. Amanda played her first match back from injury Sunday. I think I wrote that she was playing for Viborg last week, but in fact she's playing for Norway Under 21s, ahead of a first team match in two weeks, in te Modelringen Cup held each year.

She sent me the pictures the Norwegian Under 21 website posted online, and one she sent me herself:

    amanda_kurtovic.jpg

This is her before the match. This image was posted on the Norwegian U21 team's website.

    Amanda_Kurtovic_108047016x9.jpg

And this is one she sent me. It is taken in her new flat she is renting, where she is staying for a couple of months with two of her team-mates from Viborg Women's Team. One of them is British, Holly Lam Moores.

The other person she's sharing the house with is the Danish international on the left. She is on the right.

    amanda_kurtovic_pressetreff-300x206.jpg

So yeah I'm going over there mid-Feb, possibly before. It should be good to see how it looks in two months- when we spoke on cam, the house looke dimmaculate, it probably won't in a month though .. :)

To be fair, you've probably done more in a year than me..... BUT I hope to one day be fluent in Japanese and maybe (hopefully) live in America and/or Japan.

And I Googled the Norwegian, very fitting, Mr. London!

Anyone that logs on at 6am just to try and carry on childish name calling simply cannot be 50+ years old. I refuse to believe it.

Not quite Woops! :) ..... That's why I never use google translate when learning new words, and always use a website called "word reference.com", which my old english teacher gave me.

In fact, if you must know, Du er en dårlig unnskyldning av et menneske. Hold kjeft. means: You are a poor excuse of a man. stop talking now.

Never use google translate to translate to French or Norwegian- you'll be wrong every time. My french and english teachers knew when people had used google translate to do their homework instantly, as what we wrote made absolutely no sense whatsoever .. a bit like the posts from Lord Ducky :)

Weirdly that's what came up on my translation using Google. How bizarre that the same phrase, translated using the same site came up with two different translations. So how are you today?

I wonder what Woops was using to translate then to get "an odious revolting little berk". Maybe google's babel fish- another terribale translator <laugh>

EDIT: It looks like he's admitted to his methods of translating languages already :)

The best way to check if the translator is good or not is to translate it into the language you want, and then back again. If you ever get words in the wrong order/incorrect words different to those that you entered, then don't use the website! :)

I've always thought Google Translate is alright. Maybe not for English to another language, but from another language to English. For example, I learnt the Japanese for 'yes' from Google Translate (it's Hai).

In other news, just got Friend-Zoned. Bummer.

I would correct you're Norwegian grammar with the second word- (it's slightly incorrect), but that would be wasting my time.

Almost as much of a waste of time as reading your posts, Lord Dickhunter (not a typo ;) ) :)

You probably shouldn't arue with him PL. Clearly he is the epitomy of human beings and we should all look up to him cos he is perfect in everyway. The perfect footyfan, human being, referee the list goes on. In fact I'm going to make a statue of what I think he looks like and start worshipping it right now.

Btw, Pompey London, I know I asked you about Alexander Rybak, but what's your opinion on Lene Marlin?

I thought I'd dip back into this one.
In my original post I stated that I could understand the sending off. I will even accept the 4 yellow cards in 46 games ( not been given any details - not too interested )
I have a low opinion of football officials ( mainly the ineffective linesmen - who must be blind on many occasions. )
I was a little disappointed that P_L put a smiley face next to the info that the parent has been banned from future games - for conduct that we have to accept actually happened - but was not disclosed until I raised the query that he was no more than an enthusiastic dad.
That smiley face suggests that P_L has had revenge - which some may say is disproportinate to any offence by the dad. I'm not saying that the dad should not be ashamed of himself for his behaviour and embarrassed about his sons actions, - but - it does seem that the crime that the dad committed were mere words - said in the heat of the moment when passions ran high. Trust me, if that dad had really intended to cause any harm to P_L he would have done - but it was just words, which P_L could have reported ( so as to be factually correct ) - but P_L could have suggested that a polite letter to the parent would be the more appropriate course of action for the First 'offence' by the dad - but then, I suspect that there was probably a jobsworth at the local youth FA who wanted to prove a point. - pathetic. My kids are grown up - but I stopped going to watch them play youth football because of the heavy handedness of the referees.

    Brilliant <laugh>

Maybe something like this .. after he's tired from a hard day at work of sitting in an armchair being a keyboard warrior. I wonder how many other websites he likes to troll, for the high-point of his day?

    4001742-Statue_of_Milio_Plovdiv.jpg

She didn't really make that great music, in my opinion, although some of her early stuff was quite good. "Playing my Game" and "Another Day" from early in her career were quite good. What do you think of her?? :)

Feckin hell- so sending the player off is ok- but putting a smiley face on a Portsmouth fan site is not ?? Jesus- I must have missed that rule in the FA guidebook when I was revising for the three hour exam I took and got 89% in. <laugh> (You need minimum 80% to qualify as a ref.)

But seriously, alwaysright, I think you should just have a quick read over what I read before. You'll see it was not my decision whatsoever to take the action that happened. It's not in my authority. But the local youth FA panel can take action. They can sanction much more serious things than that as well. I also don't know if you're aware, alwaysright, that the linesman at youth football are never neutral- if you're annoyed at them, it's because they are parents of people from the home team, who are constantly giving the decisions to their kid's team. That's why in the Respect module for this year, they suggest you decline to have help from linesman- or what they are actually called, "assistant referees". They are not qualified, and most have never had any referee training whatsoever. I hope you realised that they were not neutral! You're a good guy, I see you're viewpoint, I guess it's just a difference of opinions based on what's what in different youth leagues <ok>

Finally, Ducky, mate- if you want to read up about the roles, responsibilities and duties of the referee, click here.

    http://www.thefa.com/refereeguide/

When you get through a couple of pieces from the intro, you'll be asked to enter your FAN number, which is supplied to you by the FA, to all fully qualified, active referees. If you enter a FAN number, you'll be taken through to the adult referees section. If not, you can see a small preview of what a youth ref would see.

What's that ?? You don't have one!? Maybe you should stick with your license of just being an internet troll ... you're a pro at that :)

Always right, you make some great points there, be careful though the jobsworth will delete posts he doesn't agree with.

Like you I find it pretty poor form that a ref comes on a forum bragging about getting a dad banned and having to watch his young son from the car park. Common sense seems in short supply from this particular ref.

I've seen too many of these jobworths who are unable to play the game themselves , but want to run about spoiling it for everyone else.

I'm not quite sure of the motives of someone who posts a smiley next to a post about getting a dad banned. What does he want, a medal?
