Agree with all of that. This feels like Iraq 2003 all over again, the US absolutely intent on an ideological war that they can't win and will cost them decades of attrition. Why even bother escalating everything x100? But maybe things have been too quiet for the US military economy for too long, and they seem to think it would be good to have a war to get Trump re-elected.
