Sorry to hear you're struggling mate, its hard to tell whos genuinely down on here at times as the club makes us all so miserable.

I can't say anything too deep as I'm **** at it, but listen to the advice given and take it one day at a time mate.

Cheers for your comments mate. I totally get what your sayin. The thing is. I do all those things. I do everything for my kids. I take them everywhere give them everything. I love them.

There’s no love lost in my house hold.
I spent most of last summer building a rabbit run the size of some folks house to put a smile on the kids faces. Cost about a grand. But it’s worth it to see there faces.

I’m a completely different person to what I was when I was young. I’m starting to wonder if it is a mid life crises just bringing out things I parked years ago.

My wife asked me what things would make me happy. I joked and the first thing that came to mind was SB sacked and MA to fall off a cliff.

Not a flash car, holiday, pornstar wife, famous celebrity status. Yada

But the reality is maybe it’s closer to home than I think. My mam used to say when I was little “your never happy, you never where happy you always want more”.

    Unfortunately I think I do!

Mate life's pretty tough and you're a sound bloke.

We're all on a conveyor belt to a gruesome end, so it's normal to get down.

I have ptsd and anxiety issues and the only thing that makes me feel good is exercise and focusing my mind on a goal and I'd say drinking isn't helping you.

You're right there's no better feeling than helping others..

We're going down mate and as we get older I think we stop trying new things, so maybe it's time for a change? Drop the drink those days are for someone else now you need a goal a new focus because while you've got seemingly everything if you have no goal you'll never feel happy.

I used to be so addicted to cocaine I ended up in an ambulance hyperventilating asher a decade of struggles, but fortunately I survived and found a hobby that replaced that craving for dopamine, so I'm not trying to sound a know it all I'm just saying what worked for me and what I've learned... It might not be he gym for you it could be painting, charity work or anything but you need to find something by the sound of it because you've got everything.

I love you bro I could respect you more more this post.. In fact I love all you lads and that's why I come on here.

Dunno if any of what I've said helps but that's from the heart

Some very touching words matey (wow I didn’t know you had such a soft side. Joking) really thankyou.

Perspective. That’s what your basically saying. I too work about 60-70 hours a week. It just feels relentless. Covid aside (that’s a separate issue on its own for me. I fell Out with half my family because of the way they where carrying on) I feel like sometimes when we think we have no one to talk to someone has been there, done it, warn the t-shirt.

I’m sorry to hear of your losses. I don’t know what that’s like so I can only imagine.

I feel slightly better already speaking to you all. Thankyou!

Might be a slight adjustment in thinking is required. I apologise in advance if this sounds nit picking but people usually do say what they mean even if only subconsciously.

Don’t do things for your kids. Do things with them.

Don’t do things for your wife. Do things with her.

Chippy makes a valid point. Don’t look for the World just set small realistic targets save the World (SB being sacked) for later. Make sure that you always have something you are looking forward to whether it’s a pizza takeaway on Friday or a family party in August or whatever gives you happiness. Don’t get into a rut. We all do but life is nothing if you don’t have something to look forward to.

Good that you’re talking to your wife she is probably desperate to help. Let her, keep talking but keep looking for positives no matter how small. Share the positives and have joint targets and positives with your wife, so you can enjoy them together when they happen.

Cheers man. Means a lot. And your right. Your did predict SB as manager and a host of other ****. We just don’t want your head exploding.

But your right I’ve done no exercise for nion a year. And drank most days of that same period. I’ve fallen into a loop of self absorbed mess. I envey anyone who finds happiness in small things. I just don’t see it.

Maybe the chemicals my body craves (alcohol) I can switch to exercise. My wife talks about all the time and I poo poo it.

I used to work 60-70 hours a week, mate, that alone might be the reason. I've been working 20-25 hours a week for the past six months, and right now i couldn't be 'happier'.

you’d really be amazed at what, say a 5 mile walk will do for you. Really helps sleep too as you are knackered. A balanced and regular sleeping pattern makes a big difference I feel to my mood. Give it a go mate. It’s free.

Classic anxiety symptom, broken or not enough sleep. It does you in mentally and physically. When you start feeling better about yourself your sleep pattern will improve. Seven hours kip a night minimum.

I used to love walking: I live in the Lake District so really have no excuse. The one time I remember feeling amazing was when i got to the top of skiddaw, ironically with my wife and it was like a different weather system 9/10 up. Blowing a Gale and pissing it down. We literally went above the clouds and it was calm, warm and sunny. Breathtaking. It was like in a plane above the clouds.

    That’s next weekends challenge set!

One of the things I had to learn was to sometimes put myself first. It helps, massively.

Funny you should say that. I’ve had serious breathing problems and have gone on medication for exactly that. I can’t get air in my nose and my asthma is awful. Plus my face is swollen and also heart palps: that’s not a reason for my sadness but maybe it’s linked.
