I had 'run-ins' with Flyer, but only ever over his negativity and his habit of twisting everything into a whinge about Harry or players he doesn't rate. We both agreed that had we known we were sat so close at Wembley, we'd have shared a beer and a laugh. Col or Queenslander I've never had any disagreements with, that I can recall. Swords.... well, his attitude and approach to me is well documented. I'm surprised he hasn't used up all his lives on here - in fact he's making me wonder how many bans someone needs to generate before they are kicked out for good. I trust the mods to deal with him in their way and their time though, and can only hope that on his return he stops singling out his targets and hounding hem as he has done me for so long on here. Being honest, I wouldn't miss him should he not return, however, the mods run this place and I'm happy with their call on this one.
I wasn't aware anyone had 'flounced' off, certainly no-one has made an issue of leaving - either way it's a terrible shame that any person feels driven off the site - and perhaps the mods should look more closely at whether some people's motivations are less about genuine discussion, and more based around creating a divisive and antagonistic environment. Personally I use the ignore button for the more attention seeking posters - you can guess who I mean... I hope whoever has left the forum reads this and realises that, irrespective of whether we all agree or not, they are are far more valued as dissenting voices than the bores whose only aim is pointless tit for tat insult trading.
It's a shame that anyone should leave the board, voluntarily or otherwise. I hope that Flyer, Swords, Col and Queens all return. As for this idea of 'ignoring' people, I just don't get it.
Pretty simple really... If the express aim of an individual is to antagonise or generate a pointless argument with other posters in order to gain attention for themselves, then I'm happy to put them on ignore. Of course that doesn't mean their posts are completely hidden, just not immediately visible unless I choose to read them - their quoted replies are still visible. Just means that I'm not constantly regaled by the supposed 'banter' of an individual who takes pleasure in aggressive and overly antagonistic posts. Utterly bored by it - and it more than often only serves to hijack otherwise interesting posts.
I think everyone's got pre season cabin fever. Wait till the first whistle on the 16th and they'll all flock back, rooting for the same cause again!

Agreed. Flyer certainly knew his onions. Also, in light of the recent cancellation (if that's what it is?) of Warren Farm I think that his cynicism about the way that the club is being run is totally understandable. In terms of the Swords issue, let's be honest, even if his views are genuine he loves nothing more than to provoke a response. On this occasion Col took the bait. Queen's bizarre over reaction is harder to explain but is pretty much his modus operandi.
I've lost track of this summer casualties, I know the following are banned on a Temp basis: Swords, Col, Queenslander. And Gimme is gone, but what happened to Flyer? He used to post 75% of what I was thinking, but was far more upbeat and positive about things than I could ever be, gonna get gloomy if he's not back soon. I haven't needed to mention Fail Beard for weeks and now here I am mentioning him for no apparent reason. Which is odd because......
Nostradamus, formerly known as Staines R's. Col and Flyer will be sorely missed. But hopefully back on board in time for Hull at home. I have stayed away from the possibly 'inflamed' threads and to be honest haven't even read them, so I'm totally in the dark over what's gone on. Just found out and think it's a shame. Hopefully everything will be back to normal as soon as the start of the season gets closer. Swords and Queens add a lot of colour to the forum, though sometimes they make me wish I was colourblind. I have no doubt they'll be back as soon as the ban is lifted.
I do think the Mod's have made the right call on the matter. They continue to do a brilliant job and fair play to them. I'm sure all 4 will be back, even though I disagree with Flyer's opinion on almost everything, he does provoke conversation on here and that's the whole point of this forum right?
Yeah, the mods strike the right tone. Plus it's a busy board too, so fair play. The Question is why the self imposed exile though? Without flyer, some on here would have convinced me I really was a ****ing misery.
