total number of crosses into the box compared to number of players in the box every time we cross the ball in.
I reckon on average we have something like 1.2 players in the box every time we cross from play, this only changes on corners and free kicks.
Its probability, if you get 10 crosses in a match into the oppo's area, the odds increase with the numbers of players in there, they rise dramatically as yo add each player, just probability, nowt to do with the quality of hte delivery once it makes it into the 18 yard box.
2ndly if a lot of our crosses are going near post first man sort of area, shouldnt at least one of our players think, hold on, why dont I cut accross the first defender when the ball is delivered, you can at least get a flick on which causes mayhem for defenders and keepers.
So.. Our up front runs are sh!t
Our delivery is into areas with noone attending because..
We get fk all players into the box when Downing Enrique Johnson Kelly ect cross in.
Our midfield does not squeeze up, so in opposite to our normal picking up the 2nd ball, we are not getting those at all, so many goals come from 2nd and 3rd balls that come back out, many of ours came that way in 2009, but with fk all forwards in the box and fk all squeezing up of the team when we attack and press the opposition back leaves huge holes behind the front line that players cna run amok in, as with United and Bilbao this space behind the attack leaves you open to counters because the team are not attacking and defending as one unit.
All of our problems can CAN be sorted out in training and tactical work. WTF is going on I ask myself.
