What if the transfer window closed a fortnight before the season started rather than a fortnight after? Managers would be able to concentrate on developing their team rather than wonder who they will have playing. Players could concentrate on playing rather than business . Fans would be able to fan...tasize about the coming season rather than worry and get p*ssed off with their club. Too easy isn't it?
What if the window opened the day after the last game and closed the day before the new season starts. No Jan window, get on with it.
I'd have a winter break put in the schedule somewhere (1st 2 weeks of December maybe), so there is very small transfer window during that time. Shorten the summer break by 2 weeks, but have the transfer window start and end as you said.
The season should be between April and dec when the weather is good. Jan, Feb, and Mar should be the transfer window.
As I remember it was something that didn't need fixing. You got to the last month or so and registration to play closed and that was it.
Could not agree more and said this on here some time ago, its a media driven agents dream is this biannual fiasco, and once again the supporters are the victims.
I think it most certainly will have. That deadline is just something that plays into the selling club and agents hands. I don't think it's fair on buying clubs. So balance needs to be restored imo.
