Is that rule no longer in place?
If we win the CL and Spurs finish 4th do we both go into the CL now?
Its good if thats the case because it was a ******ed rule.
I believe so. And if Liverpool win the EL then there is 6 teams in next year.

I'm pretty sure they've scrapped it now. Didn't we have five teams after Liverpool won it? Everton got knocked out harshly by Villareal who got to the semis if it was the same year.

That was back in 2005 though.
The rule that kept Spurs out was in 2012 when we beat Bayern.
They may have changed it again though, its confusing.

I haven't heard anything about changing the rule since 2012. I may be wrong though.

Its a long shot <laugh>
But no longer than it was in 2012 :)
Our CL performances haven't been too bad this season.

No way
Our 2012 season was built on incredibly strong defense with JT & co.
Roll 4 years, we have incredibly weak defense with JT & no Zouma.

to borrow Spidey's, JT was our gift; he is our curse.

This is the longest shot. We would be lucky to make QF.

Incredibly strong defence? I think we shipped 40 goals in the league that season :)
We were pants in the league that season.
Admittedly not as pants as we have been so far this season, but our CL performances have been decent.
Again, to counter, its not like we have faced any real opposition yet.
And we are going against a PSG side who are leading their league by 25 points or some ****.....so yeah....we are ****ed.

What was I thinking? <laugh>

There you go.. Question should be, what will be margin of how many goals we will ship in the tie.
Will this break us down and make our league survival questionable?

Gus out!!

I think we could get past PSG........ Maybe our lot will actually be motivated for that one.

Yeah I have no idea.
Is this team capable? yes.
Does that mean we will? On this seasons showings so far, we cannot even beat Watford at home, so beating PSG........meh, we will have to wait and see!

Don't think we'll get them because we can't tempt them or because we won't go for them?

I think we'll look abroad, whether that's the right choice or not who knows?!
Agree with you,but personally I'd have a punt on someone thats already here.

Ronald

There were 5 La Liga teams in the CL this season, Valencia who finished 4th and Sevilla who finished 5th were admitted because of their EL win. However if Spurs were to win the EL and finish 4th, and Manchester City won the CL (What an absurd thought with Barca and Bayern around) and finished 2nd the PL league would not gain an extra place in the CL. Would only happen let's say United or Liverpool who may well finish outside the top 4 win the EL. And if a top 4 team win the FA Cup, in addition to a United of Liverpool win in the EL, then the EL places go down to 8th.
