Lets one things straight, we lost due to our lack of penetration. We should have had the game sewn up at half time. By the letter of the law Agger had to go, but Dowd should have shown some common sense and booked him and gave the penalty. Long was clever, he did what he was told and that is run across the opposition centre-back. Would we complain if one of our players did so? I don't think so. However there was crazy decisions made. A Downing offside that wasn't amongst others.
However, if you could sign a striker a la Fowler or Owen then Liverpool would easily finish top 4, as i believe you would have finished top 3 with someone like RVP in your side last season given the amount of chances the team created.
Can't argue. We would of done better with an actual on form striker... Also on the positive side (although it doesn't matter much) we were away from home. Ref was s**t though; in my eyes we deserved to loose say 1-0.
