Worth mentioning that each place is worth around £800k. For example, finishing 17th yields £3m but 13th is worth £6m.

Remember PL when we won at Colchester. He loved the reaction of the Col U fans. He has moved on so should we. And he will want to win he is that driven which is why he is such a good manager.

Yeah, we don't want to turn out like colu_mike7‎, still obsessed with Lambert and Norwich City.

All I care about is us and staying up, really nervous for Sunday game now.

Surely the ideal scenarion is us beating West Brom. Wigan, Sunderland and Newcastle also winning and Villa losing leaving us safe and Villa v Wigan as a shootout to stay up.

TBH I don't really care who goes down as long as it's not us. I have a horrible feeling that CH will look at the fixtures and think that a motivated Arsenal will roll over a knackered Wigan and so a point will be sufficient to keep us up. This is probably an accurate analysis but to get a win in the final game at home would be a huge boost and as an earlier poster has noted any places we can climb will earn the club good money.

Let's stop worrying about other Clubs and get back to the real world. Logically Wigan have no more chance of getting something at Arsenal than we do of getting something at Man City - who by then will have nothing to play for. If we beat West Brom we will stay up and if we get a point we are likely to stay up. If Hughton and the players need a greater incentive than that at home against a Team with nothing to play for then I cannot think what would motivate them.

this is the fear factor coming in. i'm praying he doesn't play for a draw

also if we don't win anymore games and scrap safety, it could quite easily roll into next season, the bad form.

Exactly. We have a one game season, with apart from Turner, everyone available.

Could we also remember that Wigan aren't the only club we should be focusing on.

-Newcastle are on the same points as us and have to go to QPR in what will be there last home game of the season and host Arsenal who could still be looking for points to get in the Champions League
-Sunderland are on the same points as us and host Southampton, who themselves aren't safe yet and go to Spurs on the last day of the season and they're still looking to get into the Champions League
-Southampton are only a point better off and go to Sunderland (see above) and host Stoke so they could get dragged into it
-Villa are only two points better off and have to play Chelsea who need Champions League points and Wigan
-Fulham are on the same points as Villa and have to play Liverpool and Swansea

It's still possible that if we win our remaining two games and results go our way we could finish 10th...OK, that was a bit too optimistic

Also, if, and it's a big if, we beat West Brom and Villa lose to Chelsea, we will be safe regardless of the outcome of the Villa/Wigan game as the points difference will be enough that only one of them can go above us regardless of the result
