Chelsea come 4th and win the CL. Would 3rd still have to qualify or would chelsea get into the CL via their 4th place finish?

Nope. All four English teams will then go straight into the group stages.

    Well they just won it.
You want them to prove next year that they are good enough to be in it ?

    Liverpool after they won it and came fifth had to enter the CL from the first round or something. UEFA have changed it, since. I suppose they want to give the team that wins it the best chance to defend it;

Yeh but I thought if we came 3rd and chavs came 5th and won it then we would get bumped down to 4th (effectivey) and would have to qualify. Have I got this scenario wrong?

I saw it on Arsenal.com. It said we would go straight into the group stages if we come third, no matter what happens.

    Of course.

And that's why you shouldn't have given up after the Norwich game <ok>

  12. They do indeed... not at all confident of a win. I suspect we may need Spurs to drop points.

  14. LOL, that would be nice - if he scored a couple... then I might just agree we should sign him <laugh>

Well, you'll pluck anyone out of the air who's doing well and then claim we should have signed them <laugh>

I can see Fulham giving Spurs a really good game at WHL though, much better than what Villa offered. It would be fitting if Martin Jol helped to finish off the Spuds <ok>

Fulham are second in the form table. The more and more I think about it, the more I think Fulham can do something.

<laugh> You do make me laugh Jayram.

Even your own post was alluding to your 'he's scoring goals' so sign him up tendencies.

You do better when you stick to self deprecation <laugh>

  20. I really dont know why you have to drag up this argument again.

You said no players were available in January that could improve us.
    Newcastle bought Cisse

It really ends there. You lost the argument - unless you think Cisse would not have been an improvement over Chamakh and Park.

It terms of 'he's scoring goals so sign him up', no one ever said that. You know it, I know it, and every person following the thread in the Janaury window knows it. Why do you bother trying to change a point of attack when it just shows you up?
