exactly nothing that say's that anyone at the club has categorically said at any time that michu is not welcome at the club. The club has bent over backwards trying to help michu in every way possible during the open window, Unfortunately all the clubs that were interested in michu could not afford to pay him £40k a week and there was no signs of a compromise coming from michu's camp..........Well the window is shut and michu is still a Swansea player and he has no choice if he wants to keep getting wages other than to return so we can work towards a loan deal with someone. No football club in their right mind will pay michu £40k a week while they can see this fiasco going on......jinx wont tolerate this much longer either as he is not known for throwing money away.......the club is now in the driving seat and jinx will sort it out very soon one way or another.......
Does it need to be expensive? I'd put him on the bench for the Hull game. If he refuses to play I'd sack him. It's sad it's come to this.
I think Monk saying he won't be playing for the club again sums it up Dai,and why should he be the one to compromise? Its the Swans who don't want him back! Their press releases on the situation just says it all. Its always been in Michu's hands this situation as he is the player with the legally binding contract, we can't just stop paying him as we will be in a **** load of trouble if we do. Jenkins will have to decide what he wants to do, either pay up his contract or continue to pay his gardening leave until the end of the contract, he won't be coming back to this club, unless they have a massive change of heart. Their other option is to see who will take him on loan with us picking up the rest of his legally entitled salary.
So you'd put on a player that has not trained with our existing squad on the bench, complete madness, and I am glad you are not in charge at the club
And how will he exactly do that when by the looks of things he hasn't done anything wrong? All he is doing is following the instructions by the club, stay away from Swansea, try and find a new club, now tell me has he been doing that? Provide me with proof he hasn't ! Also why have they paid off Tiendelli who has a year left on his contract, and they haven't for Michu? Professional football contracts are all basically the same with different amounts written on them, you can even download them from the FA website.
Undoubtably, the wording in his contract is going to be the same, so if they are obliged to pay him off, then they should do the same for Michu if they want rid of him.
Wouldn't he only be able to sack him if he breaks the terms of his contract or for gross misconduct ? Michu may want to make the most of the time left on his contract by doing as he's told ? In the unlikely event that money means nothing to him or has mental issues I can't see him just walking away on the cheap ?
The interest from everyone here is because we all know how good a player he is on his day..... It's a shame that there appears to be such an impasse
I doubt very much we will pay this contract up, it would be far more profitable for us to pay his gardening leave on a weekly basis, and see how much he is itching to play football again, if indeed he can, at which point it will become evident his career is over................
The difference between the tiandelli and michu contracts is that they to a mutual agreement so most probably the club have said "look Dwight you are 5th or 6th choice fb and you are likely to get little / no playing time currently with us would you be interested in coming to an agreement and we rip up your final year, he has then said yes for a percentage of my remaining contract and they have come to the final figure. Whereas michu has possibly said no I want this, this and this or I ain't going anywhere.
Well if they can't come to a figure that they both agree to, then they either up the figure or continue to pay his wages. Adebayor with Spurs is in a similar situation.
So why have we, Michu, his agent all failed in finding a new future for Michu. There has to be a reason for this He was superb, he was a world class player, he was a Spanish International, he was on the radar of any club with ambition and we worried that he'd be plucked for us after his first season. What went wrong for has career to stop as abruptly as it has? This is all we know, No club, other than an alleged last minute bid from Celtic allegedly turned down by Michu, has made a bid to buy him or requested to loan him. We sold Jazz, loaned Dyer, Barrow, Gorre and more, we let Tatey go and we mutually terminated Tiendallis contract so it would seem that we are capable of doing the required business, yet Michu remains We, Michu, his agent et al, have ALL failed to place Michu at another club and he continues to languish on our books in Spain showing little desire to move on and the clincher imo, IS NOT PLAYING ANY FOOTBALL ANYWHERE WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? Because he's crocked, unable to play football and is well aware of this so is stretching out his time here to feed as honey as he can from our honey pot. I don't know this is my view and I've reasoned why I think as I do. I'd sincerely like to here alternative reasoned views on offer. How? and Why? has Michu, a player we ALL loved, become a pariah in world football.
Anyone think this is why Dyer has gone out on loan? I imagine Michu's wages are probably fairly similar and if we have to pay Michu's I can see a logic in balancing those off against Leicester paying Dyer's...
Not sure he's "a pariah in world football". But some on here see him as one. All very sad. The Club should just pay him off, since Monk has made it clear he doesn't want/need him. Michu's good name is part of the Club's history now,and I will only remember him with fondness and great pride. If anyone here has forgotten just how good he was,go on u tube,as there are several videos to enjoy. Arsene Wenger's face when Michu scored the second goal in our Cup win at Emirates is worth the price of admission - anywhere.
He will not be allowed to return to the club he had offers to leave but declined every one. Swansea will pay up his contract soon. I know he wont be allowed to return, he also knows this. He has not been back to Wales since he left for Napoli last summer.
Pariah may have been a little OTT but he has become untouchable and the thorn in my side is why is this? I think too Libby that only those with a very short term memory wont remember his immense contribution in his first year with us and this is exactly why I'm irked by the current situation. He was our talisman and now he's ______ enter your own description here. How has this happened? It only makes sense to me if Michu is not fit to play. Why he isn't fit is another story. If it's a mental issue, as some have offered, then it must be up to us to take the lead and arrange a mutually beneficial scenario. If he's injured then, what's he got, how did he get it? How long has he had it? Obviously both sides known the full undisclosed story but we'll get clues as to what has been going on through the actions that will be taken sooner or later. Imo, if it takes a long time to sort then I proffer mental issues as the main reason, if sooner then its more physical and he simply can't play football to the necessary standards any more.
