    £8m for Cech <laugh>
One of the top 10 keepers on the planet for sure.
Only 31, easily has 5 years left in him.

We just need to sell them to PSG, they'll make twice market value easily!!

Think Cech will be in his last year of his contract so I think we'd get 10-12 million for him. Ramires is worth 15. Oscar would fetch 25 million I think given age, potential etc. Fernandinho cost about 30, was much older and barely gets in the Brazil team, ditto Fernando.

Didn't realise he was only 31??????

I had him as 34 so you can understand my valuation so I now agree to some degree and would go £15 million.

He's a bit daft not pushing for a move, sitting around is doing him no good when he is a top keeper who would get in most teams.

True but he has lived in London and been part of the club for over 10 years; can't be an easy decision to make with family settled etc.

Ultimately he is still getting games as well. I think he may go as they'll be plenty of high profile takers, but maybe Jose can do some magic.

I understand what you mean but footballers careers are short, personnally I'd want to be playing and that hasn't happened often enough for him this season.

We were lame, but had Costa's pen been given, or David Luiz been rightly sent off for elbowing Costa/and or trying to get Costa sent off, he would not have been on the field to equalise.

We were dreadful though, Jose said some players could not handle the pressure. Obvious one is Oscar, and possibly Matic, Ramires and Fabregas bottled it too?

Fab was / is running on empty for so long. So are Dave, Oscar et al.
Matic wasn't sharp after the break and with his ankle issue.

I gave the team sheet to Jose in the other thread. We could have and should have walked this game, had he listened to me.

And that's why Jose is just a multi millionaire 2 x European cup winner and we just talk about football, we obviously know more ;)

He's 32... and 33 in two months time. His contract ends next Summer. But other than that, yes, entirely factually accurate and I'm sure you'll have teams bidding £20m for him <laugh>

    Thought he was 31,

    congrats....you can use wikipedia.
Arsenal would do well to get him, even at £20m to replace old Chezza.

I think Jose decided to play a conservative style in the main to protect his first eleven. He is known for using small squads. He may have a big one now, but he isn't using it. From what we've seen he pretty much has an eleven and five or six others he is willing to put in when someone is injured. He uses the early cup rounds to play squad members he wouldn't usually pick. He does not rotate in the sense of resting players. He will drop an out of form player if he has a suitable back up as he did with Courtois. So when he thinks there is a match where he believes there is an opportunity to win with minimum effort that is how he'll set up to play.

I do not like it. I can not argue though with his successful record and I have never managed a professional football team.

From what I have seen the greater the expectation, the more likely Jose is prone to taking a cautious approach; once PSG were reduced to 10 it seemed Jose was hedging his bets on getting through on away goals. We're now 5 pts ahead with 2 games in hand - with that in mind it would be refreshing to see if Jose press home the advantage and not having to rely on the competence of officials or conspiracy theories....time to step up.

Absolutely no way !! Matic bottled nothing, Fabregas is just not the answer playing where Jose plays him in his ultra negative football, Oscar is just hopeless. all piss and wind. Pressure has nothing to do with the fact that we were shredded by a better Team who have a better manager than our 10 year out of date one. Jose is looking more and more like yesterdays man. Modern football has caught him up and overtaken him.

So on the basis of one game, Blanc is a better manager than JM?

He is struggling to win Ligue 1 on a huge budget.

Matic was poor again in midfield today, overrun and subbed. But players are not robots, Matic is allowed a couple of bad games. You can't win every game 4-0 playing like Brazil 70!

Matic is struggling with an ankle, but Dave, Oscar and Fab are just out of form and have had a run of ordinary games. That happens to the best of players for sure. We have good replacements for all of them except Fab, but Jose keeps playing them. That was one of our problems against PSG, the bigger one was the tactics. Same old same old from us, ultra defensive even at home with a one man advantage. It doesn't work anymore in the CL. In my opinion, Joses' set up and tactics are unchanged for the last 10 years, yet I think the success rate of his teams is reducing. I don't have the statistics, but Simeone and Blancs' teams both walloped us playing attacking football, one with big money team, the other without. We started the season playing expansive football, but that's now morphed into safety first again. That's why I think Jose is out of date with his thinking, especially in the CL, and needs to adapt to a different style, and quickly, or he'll be managing somewhere else before you can say Roman Abramovich.

One CL win and four consecutive semi finals since 2010 says otherwise CP.

But I know what you mean maybe he could have turned those semis into trophies.

PSG hardly walloped us: needed extra time and away goals to beat us
