BRISTOL.
Something for you older City fans......................

19 May 1977
Last match of the season
Coventry City v Bristol City
A draw will keep both teams in (the old) Division 1.
Guess what?
2-2.
Sunderland, Stoke and Tottenham go down.
Coventry City and Bristol City both survive by one point!

Might be a little different this year!!

Your football history cannot be faulted, but how the **** is your thread connected with this season?

I was actually trying to start a thread which would evoke
memories from the older fans.
I remember that at the time there was a 'bit of a fuss' about
both teams playing out time.
The link is that here we have both teams playing an important match
towards the end of a season, but this time I bet there will be no
playing out time.
Oh......I'll get back to making up 5 word sentences and reminiscing about
great records from my misspent youth!

I was there brilliant night with 10000 plus city fans in Coventry.sadly they will be staying up this time, and us going down.

Amazing thing about that year is that Tottenham got relegated - could Villa go this year?

I Rated N'Zogbia was a very good player at newcastle and wigan, but both teams were rather shocking at this point

plus when villa was appointing didnt they want martinez?? they were clearly desperate and cheap

We and coventry will both stay up with millwall going down. They are the only other team with form as bad as us. 4 points behind them

only lost once in 4 games, our form isn't bad, it just isn't great, get behind the boys!!!

Unfortunately 3 points from 4 games played isn't good enough to stay up Shiny. Also 7 points from thirteen games is relegation form. big time. The saving grace is that all four teams in the immediate danger area have been playing as badly as each other. Each one has had a bit of a spurt but only florest have put any real form together.
