Went and saw The Book Thief at the weekend.

Quite dull. The storyline was very weak and padded out. Geoffrey Rush was pretty good in it though.

About Time - (from Netflix) - not really my cup of tea (type of film) but daughters wanted to watch as a 'Sunday family film' ... have to confess is was enjoyable (if a little 'poignant') - Bill Nighy's performance particularly good ...

It's typical of those type of films, the wife cried I was a little bored but not the worst film to watch if you really have to.

First post in this section but I'm a bit of a film fanatic.

The Grand Budapest Hotel - won't be to everyone's taste but I loved it. Cast were superb and the film was lol funny.

I thought it was ok tbh . Have you seen 13 assassins ? The original is a classic and the remake is pretty damn good as well .

I love movies about feudal Japan, Kurosawa's are unbeatable tbh. Throne of Blood, Hidden Fortress and 7 Samurai are classics.

At the moment I am watching the Stieg Larsson trilogy Millenium, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest. Excellent what I have watched up to now, the first one Tatto, is totally different being the Scandinavian version as opposed to the Daniel Craig Hollywood version, both good but I think the Scandinavian version edges it.

I preferred the US version but maybe that's just me. Both are excellent.
