YES! I've loved both seasons of Discovery so far. Like you - I'm a bit apprehensive about Picard but it'll probably be great. I've been re-watching older series recently (as they are all on Netflix) - just finished all of Deep Space Nine a few weeks ago and realised I'd never seen the final episode before. Just started going through Voyager again -still enjoyable.
I think I've seen every episode of Star Trek up to Voyager and seen most of those (can't really be sure how many I've actually missed, probably not many). Saw most of the ones (?) with the guy from Quantum Leap but thought it the weakest Star Trek so far. I did love Deep Space Nine. Did you notice Odo now plays snooker as Welshman Ryan Day? I got my love of Sci-Fi and everything space from the original Star Trek. I can still remember the thrill of the theme tune! Of course in those days you used your imagination to fill in the blanks and I can't remember ever thinking the effects were lacking. Cutting edge stuff Honourable mention to Space 1999!
Most yank action movies are full of predictable **** ! 1000000 bullets missing the hero but all his hit ! The villain beats the living crap 9ut of him but he still finds the strength to win like nothing hurt him ! The woman gets used against him but he saves her for a happily ever after shag ! Unlimited rounds in his gun, more luck than a tripple lotto jackpot winner ! It goes on ! Just saw one of the worst examples, skyscraper starring the Dwsyne rock johnson ! What a load of old **** !
Haha - just did a search for that Ryan Day - he does look a lot like Odo lol I still love the original Star Trek series as well. In terms of Sci-Fi I have a fairly decent collection of 50's & 60's Sci-fi B movies that I just love - stuff like Destination Moon and Invaders from Mars etc. I love how innocent they all are - that there could be little green men on Mars coming here - before actual science kinda ruined all that lol. My favourite has to be Plan 9 from Outer Space, a movie so bad it's amazing. I also have a dvd of a movie called Robot Monster which says it filmed in "Intriguing 2D" haha
Spot on Little new in the cinema. If it's not a rehash of something earlier then it's some regurgitated crap with ludicrous, unrealistic "action". It would be nice to see a return to some semblance of reality in action films. The worst example of this I've seen was one of those Fast And Furious films where it was not just suspending disbelief, it was complete and total nonsense. Now I can suspend disbelief like a good 'un when it's silly sci-fi or horror but that was way too far even for me!
You're hard core I'd watch those old movies occasionally but wouldn't collect them. You'd probably get on with my Old Man! Plan 9 is one of his favourites. I do remember Wasp Woman with some fondness I'm definitely looking up Robot Monster, now you've mentioned it.
I like star trek stuff , next generation was good. Best star trek bits are these Dax is the sexiest imo.
Slightly off topic but I've not watched Dr who since the last guy did it, just caught the new one. What a load of PC overdiversified bollox ! That's 30 seconds watching wasted ffs !
Let's not go there, BBC leftist bollox. I know, let's do a documentary where Emily Pankhurst is a one eyed muslim bloke with one leg who identifies as a occultist catholic hermaphrodite lesbian homosexual alien ****ing pig licker dedicated to the prophetisation of men as suprememe beings. Why not? If anyone objects I'll have a hissy fit on social media and a million brain dead twats will back me up.
TNG was my era, watched voyager and liked some bits. Seen nowt since the films. Looking fwd to Picard tho so I hope it doesn’t disappoint
Tom Baker was the only Dr Who I watched. Think Sylvester McCoy and Peter Davidson came after and they were both sh1t.
Hartnell was before my time, so I started on Worzel. My favourite was Tom Baker though. And I also thought everyone after was naff.
That was the last time I watched it , honestly . ScFi has never interested me but I've always been fascinated by the planets etc. Its a pity therse days there so much light pollution which is denying a lot of kids these days to actually look up and see something truly meaniful
