I'd agree, with you, that being 'open and honest' has to be consistent and not whenever it suits. We wear rose tinted glasses not welding goggles.
I still think there is a twist in all this, not sure what but, with everything that has gone on like the registering of the company using SAFC's address etc and me being a naturally optimistic person leads me to think something good will happen
To add to my post, if it doesn't come off, of course I will be gutted but I will still support SAFC as best I can. Its also made for an interesting discussion these last few weeks
And if we dont? (Which is the more likely scenario). We will probably have to chip in to help pay him off
We don't know the details of the contract, but maybe there's a clause that gives us a way out if he doesn't achieve promotion? And in exchange for adding that clause, we gave him a longer contract?
I really believe when he saw he had a chance of getting our club on the cheap from short he saw his way of moving into the next tier of the rich and famous. He has said all the right things (communicating with fans, up and coming ambitious manager, painting seats, telling us we're the best and he wants to lead us back to the promised land...swoon), and we all lapped it up. Addictive pr on the cheap. Wheels started to rattles bit with maja being allowed to leave and then wasting a dosh on a striker who couldnt score thanks in the main to the awful football perpetrated by the 'ambitious young manager'. Too many draws and 2 chokes at wembley and the air is leaking out of the tyres. 1 failed takeover ( at the last minute ), another meh football start, another failed investment/takeover, a sacked manager, recruiting a manager who has been universally panned by every online poll and the tyres are flat and sparks are flying up off the rims. His sphincter must be like the proverbial rabbits nose. This aladdin's cave is starting to look like a dirty old watchman's hut on a deserted building site from his perspective. Its twitchy bum time for him and the fans and I dont see that changing unless the new manager can get a string of good results together
One thing we've all overlooked, is that the Americans will know jack sh1t about football, sorry, 'soccer' managers. SD could have hired Klopp and the yanks would have said "who?" I'm still hopeful....
