Deep down I've expected relegation for months, last time we went down at Villa it was painful, will remember that day for the rest of my life whereas Saturday I was surprised and a little concerned at how much it didnt bother me. Plenty of positives, Get rid of half the squad, might actually win some games next year, big financial hit to our owner, managing director and scounting team getting the boot and most importantly, some of the younger blood may get some pitch time. Imagine if this was it though, the final blow and Ashley actually decided to sell up as a result of this. I would take relegation all day for that to happen!
I'm not so sure about where Burton is exactly on the map but surely flandersmackem is lost.......a mackem in Europe? Surely a first!
Problem with that is those are all things we hope for, but none of them are definitely going to happen. We could be in the championship with much the same squad, having lost the ones we didn't want to and still paying the wages of the ones we wanted rid of. The 'Football' Board might still be in place untouched and overseeing another **** manager that they have brought in. I would love to see Charnley and Carr gone, but will they be? That would very much depend on who he sold us to!
This! If we don't beat Everton then I still think its wide open. Newcastle are more than capable of beating Spurs. We are more than capable of losing to Watford.
If only Everton weren't in freefall. I think you won't just beat them - you will hammer them. And to think some on here want Martinez to replace Rafa when he goes
Now come on! We are more than capable of dropping an absolute clanger just as much as yous lot. In fact, I predict us leading but then conceding a late equaliser meaning having to endure a right kick in the teeth whilst taking another tentative step towards safety by knowing a draw will be enough against Watford. Torture!
If only they had hypnotised everyone in Guantamano to support our two teams instead of waterboarding them, the war on terror would be over now!
I'm buying this mate. Do you think the sunderland players will be thinking the same? Somehow, I think not
Defoe to get a red card in the first 5 mins with an elbow on John Stones. Game to end 0-0 with Sunderland just needing a draw against Watford to stay up!
If we have to go down the red card route to place our hopes in, I'd prefer to be even more ambitious (and far fetched) and hope to see Vito Mannone sent off in the first five minutes, then Jordan Pickford come on as a sub and also be sent off. Not that it would make any difference to us as I don't think we will beat Spurs, but the fun of watching the mackems realise that Steve Harper would be in goal for the crucial last game might be amusing.
I wish I shared your confidence...The years of being kicked in the guts means I never count any chickens until they have been hatched, cooked and eaten..
