Rookhope burn in Weardale. Stunning place, lots of old mine buildings, a beautiful burn and plenty of rabbits and pheasants to keep the dogs busy!

Had the golden one to the vets today.
Daft little bugger ran into a metal spike and ripped his chest open.
    He's not best pleased.

Just let out the tiniest yelp when he did it. I couldn't figure out how he'd done it so went back today to have a look.

He's ran into an old gabion.
I only noticed it cos of his bit of skin laid nearby.

Should be fine with a bit of luck.
Went to an out of hours vet yesterday afternoon when he did it and was quoted £132 for a consultation and anywhere between 6 and 7 hundred to stitch him up.
So we made an executive decision and decided to clean him up and drop him in at our local vets this morning. Didn't sleep a wink last night making sure he was OK.
Cost £340 in the end, which I thought was a bit steep until I saw the size of the scar!

He's fine now. Eating and drinking well.
