before I went to france I had the image of arrogance etc
found them to be great people

I think what the brits (generalising here) need to understand is that we kind of create arrogance in others by being numpties

I went with my kids and that, from the off spoke to people, engaged in the culture etc and made some friends

I know you may think "you would say this wouldn't you" but I've found Dublin to be extremely friendly compared to most other cities. Certainly a world apart from Belfast.

Any Dubliner I have come across has been an ignorant prick. That may be because they don't like Tyrone folk though.

Strange, I would have had quite the opposite experience. Mostly from the cliquey music scene down there. Well dare a northerner start a set in a seisun full of free staters <grr>

Yep, I found Dublin very friendly too. Until you got between the locals and tourist burds; it got a lot less friendly very quickly.

To cut a long story short, I won, but lost the burd. Apparently Swedish burds don't like men fighting over them. Who woulda thunk that? She lives forever in my **** bank, though.

I was just thinking how we might feel if someone said that about our granddads. Not that I have any grandparents (or parents) alive.
