you have to question the decision to pay £13.2m for a manager. that, and the fact that he is young and portuguese, is AVB's only saving grace at the moment. this is a team which should be doing an awful lot better than what they are doing currently, and ancelotti was sacked for doing much better than what chelsea are doing now.

yes its early days and so on, but this is a poor start, but at the end of the day its only that, a start, chelsea need to qualify from this group, get back on track in the premiership and keep the points total ticking over, like united did after the 6-1.

to any chelsea fan, what possessed the club to sack ancelotti, when they could have allowed him to see out the final year of his contract before then sacking him and replacing him with AVB who would then become available for a fraction of the compensation fee. and thats before reminding you all that ancelotti is an outstanding manager who has won the champions league as a player and as a manager. AVB with his background was always a gamble, a calculated gamble but a gamble nonetheless and so far his team are producing performances below par

Last year was even worse considering the quality of the league last year. Man U won the league being one of the worst teams away from home, city were still building, Liverpool having one of their worst starts to a season in living memory etc. We should have walked the league last year. That 2 month slump in the middle costs us big time.
