Good Enough:
GK Reina
RB (LB cover) Johnson
RB (CB cover) Kelly
CB Agger
CB Skrtel
LB Enrique
DM Lucas
AM (DM cover) Allen
AM Sahin *
Front 3 (F3) Suarez
Most of the players debated so far are ones I had to hesitate over. Lucaas you are right to a point, I too think I was a little generous with category 1. I'm hoping immediate additions to GK, LB and F3 would improve the form of players that are still young enough for a 2nd wind so to speak.
As for Yessil I thought the terms of the "buy" were an option to enforce buy back at same price with the approval of the player? Or was that a media myth?
I do think it depends most on a combo of immediate buys & how many of the category 2 players can be pushed to top without burnout. I personally think there is enough of them in similar positions to keep them all competitive AND to rest them adequately.
But Yes FSG better have either picked a mighty scouting team or find an extra 20 million a year to spend.

LFC fans are like a family an institution, or to use an other analody, like a hive off bees, the bees work together towards a common cause, if an intruder attacks the hive, the bees fight till death to protect the hive. An intruder or an outsider is easilty spotted.

I hate bees, not as much as I hate wasps but I'm no fan of them.
Not sure about Enrique in the 'good enough' column. He's been off his game all year, will his form return?
The way Johnson has settled in at left-back,and with Kelly and now Wisdom at right-back I can see
Johnson's position becoming a permanent fixture with Enrique as cover or even being shifted on next
summer if no improvement is seen.
I would also include Coates in the 'good enough' column, with probably six 'prospects' close to joining
that group.Namely Hendo,Shelvey,Suso,Sterling,Wisdom and Robinson.
We need some experianced heads amoungst our youngsters. A striker is the obvious priority but we also need a decent defensive midfielder, goalkeeper and left winger as Downing is a liability and Sterling can't be expected to play 40-50 games a season.
Players to go..
Jones (Free)
Enrique (£4m)
Cole (£4m)
Downing (£8m)
Doni (where is he??) (Free)
Spearing (£3m)
Carroll (if we sign a striker or 2 permanently first) (£20m)
That there is nearly £40m if we were to use that as a wage budget to suppliment a £20m-£30m purchase budget we could get some real quality in the side. Rodgers and FSG's vision would see at least 5-6 players come in from that money, all of them would be sniffing around the first team and they'd all have re-sale value. Take Assiadi & Yesil as an example of their vision, we signed them for what £2.3m & £1m a piece... in 3-4 years they will both be worth at least 5-6 times that
Who the hell is going to pay £8m for Downing?? lol Carrol will ride out his contract on loan at different clubs as nopbody will pay £20m for him.

Thinking like that though might make me bitter & disillusioned. I'll stick with deluded & happy that we are on the way up that way I won't get an ulcer

Get rid of Suarez... he is dragging you club to new lows every week. Better manager and a decent striker or two.
Bearing in mind the assumptions I have no problem with the categorisations. Many of the recent buys have been huge disappointments. In a sense it shows that buying a dud at huge cost has implications beyond finance. They drag down the team down as various issues come into play. E.g How do you get rid of downing and Carroll but at the same time recoup decent money? Big money failures make us reliant on prospects and the need for patience and tolerance. Owners suddenly tightenn the purse strings (understandably).
I agree with some of the posters who said that the top priority is bringing quality players in the category labelled 'strikers'
