I haven't felt as good about Leeds since our last promotion. Have our best manager since maybe Wilko, owners that seem to be willing to invest some money to help the manager and fans returning in their thousands. Would be nice if bates died now before he can spend any of the new found wealth
No probs! Never hated Leeds, we're not "local" rivals really? but must say us beating you this season was a highlight so far.
Warnock can expect Haigh, who looks certain to become chairman when Ken Bates stands down to take on the role of honorary club president at the end of the season, to sanction a £10million spending spree next month.
Not sure if its cos I've had a few celebratory Leeds drinks Elland, but I'm struggling to understand that quote. Is that wishful thinking or something you've read mate?
Some paper that Daily Mail, Lambert has proberbly played his best stuff and i personally hope he is not on NW shopping list. I would however be interested in WBA's Woods, Poyet made good remarks about him, and i rate Poyet, he was the mastermind when he was at ER, not that little Chelski **** Wise, whatever happens its going to be interesting over the next few weeks.........MOT
You've managed to stay close the promotion pace so far with limited resources thanks to your mate Ken. With investment and the potential large crowds you could now be the dark horses. Remember Reading last year?
That's the same daily mail article that said gfh bought us for 17 million. Wouldn't believe a word that Warnock is getting 10 mill in January. Would be great if true of course
after 23 games last year, Reading (after a terrible start) had 36 points.... 1 more than Leeds have today
My point exactly. I'm sure Leeds fans are enjoying their climb up the table and aren't paying much attention to anyone else. Just like us.
It's only natural when pushing for promotion you only tend to look at teams above you. Only time fans look at teams below them is if they are in danger of relegation
I have to say that I doubt Warnock will have £10m to spend, but he will have enough to meet his needs, noting that the JTW is not a great time to do business. If we get all our current loanees either on contracts or extended to the end of the season, all we'll need is maybe one or two others. Will also be good if we can offload Connolly & others surplus to requirements.
Interesting point. Its exactly half way through the season. Lets say we do exactly what we did for the first half of the season and finish on 70 points. Would 70 points be enough for the play offs?
