You can call it double standards if you like and it probably is to some extent. However I'm sick of the sight of Cattermole's name and he's had three strikes as far as I'm concerned, 1. He's **** 2. He asked to leave 3. He's bitched at our fans (however understandable). Honeyman had strike one which was asking to leave but it's been cancelled out to an extent by being made captain, speaking of what an honour it is and generally being a likeable up and coming player.
It's no ****ing different, young old or otherwise. She said neither player would return to the club, and both wanted paying off. Both should be treated the same way. The bottom line is that You've decided you don't like catts, so won't hear any different Actions speak louder than words. Our manager is saying he is applying him, being professional and making himself available despite the abuse he's getting on social media and at the pre season games. He could turn up, do the bare minimum and see out his contract until 2021 but he isn't doing a Rodwell.
Oh he tries alright but my patience ran out with him a couple of years ago. Don't really care what you think about it.
We're on an Internet forum. If what I said was affecting you personally, I'd be worried for you! I'm not saying I want him to stay, nor that he is any good (injuries have caught up with him imo), but as long as he is here and trying, fans shouldn't shout abuse at him (nor any other player who pulls on our shirt - though I might have made a exception for Rodwell had he stayed and ever played for us again )
Honeyman didn’t say ‘sooner the better’ to the fans who pay his wages. Far, far from similar. Heat of the moment or otherwise he’s a a ****ing disgrace for saying that, and he’s washed up as a footballer anyway. I never have or would abuse a player in the shirt mind that exactly what forums like this are for, **** bringing negativity into the stadium we are there to support.
No I don't think he deserves abuse and Honeyman doesn't, neither does. It's just on the one hand you've got a player who I've been at the end of my tether with for a while playing up, and another player who I've got no issues with and actually like doing the same thing (albeit without sniping back at their fans) and yeah I do think of the two of them differently.
If Catts starts on Saturday, leads by example and works his arse off.... Then, does it again, and again, he'll soon win the fans back. We're a fickle bunch. All we want to see is them die for the shirt, 90 minutes a week. That's not too much to ask for is it?
I think he'd look better with the young whipper snappers around him doing all the running so he might well have some good games, by his standards at least.
It looks like McGeough and O'Nien will be our midfield pairing. I can't see Cattermole getting a game before them two. We may as well give McGeough the player of the season award now!
He was getting dogs abuse from so called fans and snapped back.. I'm not going to hold that against him.. the manager stated that his attitude in training has been first class..
We may have no choice though. He may be with us to the end of his contract. Far better for him we see him not do a Rodwell and earn our respect, even if he is a financial albatross around our neck.
Jack Ross regarding Lee Cattermole's future . . . . Lee has trained fantastically well since I joined, I can only speak from that side. His application and the conversations that I have had with him, I can't speak highly enough of him. As long as that remains the case, that will continue." Jack Ross He is undoubtedly 'past his best' but that above is the most important part of Catts' being a part of S.A.F.C. for me
Seeing as he didn't make the squad it's safe to say that Ross doesn't rate him. He described it as tactical reasons which is just a nice way of putting it.
There was mention on here yesterday that there was a loan move option to Hull City being mentioned, anybody got any ideas of this has legs?
