Listening to Lineker, Shearer etc discussing us, instead of hearing Harvey Fletcher's squeaky excitement in the 'For or Against, It's Goals That Count' videos.
I wish I could adequately articulate my mental image of Harvey built from those videos. There was the odd game where he didn't turn up/or his microphone was buggered.
Current Saturday mornings..... sitting in my basement in Toronto with 3 or 4 other ex-pat City supporters, watching City live on TV. Being able to concurrently watch 4 or 5 additional Premier League matches (yep, got a few TV's in that basement), and at the same time listen to Burnsie & Swannie pratting about with the commentary on TigersPlayer, whilst at the same time seeing the live movement of league positions on the BBC web-site as the scores change. Beats waiting for the Hull Daily Mail "Green Sports Mail" to be mailed to me by my old man 3 weeks or more after the events that happened in 3rd & 4th divisions !! Brilliant time right now.
I hate it when the matches against the bigger teams comes around. The plastics just come out the woodwork. I've just seen a woman on the City facebook claim everyone in Hull supports two clubs. Unfortunately, it's something that holds us back from increasing the ground and fanbase.
'Tis true what you say Golaccio, but I reckon I've managed to get a considerable number of mates over here to start supporting City - ex-pats who support Liverpool, Man United, Leeds (even), Newcastle and even supporters from the Sarf (Spurs, Arsenal & Chelskie fans). Ground attendance maybe, but not the fan base.
Stockport had five years at the second level. If that's most of your life then you write very good sentences young fellow. Are you top in English?
Probably seeing us play teams that have had fairly recent european football and thinking 'we can have these today' without being laughed at.
