What's all this anti-USA nonsense. It's an absolute fact that: 1. It is the greatest country on earth. Every American believes this. Even my kids do and I'm trying to teach them that there are other countries who contribute to the betterment of the world other than the USA; 2. Has the best infrastructure for moving masses of people around. Hard to argue with their airport and interstate infrastructure although most cities have really poor public transport compared to Europe; 3. Has more McDonalds than anywhere else; 4. Already is the home to the World Champions of Football (the silly NFL kind where apart from the punter and kicker, no-one else uses their feet)....pity no other country is invited to play; 5. Already is the home of the World Champions in Baseball....at least Toronto get a shout here; 6. Already is the home of the World Champions in Basketball....at least Toronto get a shout here as well; 7. Already is the home of the World Champions in Ice Hockey....you've guessed it - at least Toronto get a shout here as well as Montreal, Vancouver & Calgary...so it's really a world competition this time. Gotta love those Canadians. In all seriousness, the USA would put on an excellent tournament and I'd be happy as Tampa would be a bid city! The game at grass roots level and college level here is fantastic. The MLS just isn't there yet and gets little airtime compared to other sports. The MLS Cup is the only pro league where the winner isn't decreed as the "World Champions"!!! But there are other nations who could do the same. England is tarnished by the greed and success of the EPL and the fact that Platini and Blatter hate us. It's okay, the feeling is mutual. Until these two tosspots are off the FIFA Exec Board, England is doomed. The World Cup is now about politics and money. Qatar should never have won it. We all know that. The Russian bid was less of a joke but with their current actions in Ukraine, they should be stripped of any seat at the table of international sport. Scumbags.
