Just seen episode 3 and 4 of season 4, White Chapel. Brilliant idea, really well played out. Best so far. Looked it up., and they are the only 2 episodes Steve Pemberton wrote. I can't tell his writing style by now
Moaning of Life Season 2 Episode 1....Brilliant. I have missed Karl's new thoughts and feelings from my life the last couple of years. Laughed so much again. He'll never change.
Must say, I'm near the end of Season 3 of Boardwalk, and it's definitely getting much better. This season has been far better than the first 2.
Arne Dahl is the pen name of a Swedish writer, and also the show based on his work. It's about a team of elite detectives, I like it a lot. Watching the first ones at the moment on Netflix. The latest two-parter was on BBC4 at the weekend. Great that there will soon be another series of The Bridge. I think Saga is my all-time favourite character!
I started "Power" heard a lot of good things about it. 4 episodes in, not a lot has really happened. Bit slow at the moment. Hasn't hooked me yet. I should have started Season 3 of The Bridge.
I dug out the box set of Green Wing earlier this week and am ploughing through that. Still think it was way ahead of its time, in fact, I still think it is ahead of time now. Some of the stuff is unbelievably good and totally mad. If you haven't seen it, treat yourselves to it. Stephen Mangam, Tamsin Greig among many others.
Agree, loved it and some episodes were just out there, I'll have to watch the dwarf episode again. I also loved Al Murry's series Time Gentlemen Please, so many catch phrases. And The Grimley's, great to see the stars of the 70s in that.
Started series 1 of "Detectorists" as Series 2 is getting good hype at the moment. Episode one was fairly funny. Could me decent.
Yes I asked about that in an earlier post as we missed series 1 and wondered about getting the box set of the two series together when it comes out. If you think it "could me decent" then I am encouraged to do that. Mackenzie Crook is another odd talent.
Not many laugh out load moments in each episode, but amusing and a nice feel to it. Watched 3 episodes last night, will watch the last 3 today. Will be able to give a better recommendation after that.
Very good first series. I don't know if I would buy it, but very enjoyable watch. Well acted, well written. Humorous and kind of heart warming. Not a laugh out load fest, but we enjoyed it, and will watch series 2.
You have to stick with it,as it "grows" on you. Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones are both superb. Toby Jones IMO is one of the finest character actors around..Really looking forward to seeing him in Dads Army as Capt Mainwaring.
First 3 episodes of Peaky Blinders were fantastic!! Tom Hardy is brilliant again in this. Him and Murphy are two of my favorite actors. Great to see them together.
Just had my weekly dose of Only Connect and University Challenge on BBC2, merely to confirm how little I actually know.
Only Connect is really difficult. Got the one last night about High Jump. Her Indoors was nearly impressed!!
Don't you think though that at times the questions do border on ridiculous and are virtually unanswerable? It is however complusive in a bizarre kind of way.
