I’ve heard from a lot of people they found it terrifying. I don’t mind a horror film or TV show every now and again. But have to be when I’m on my own (gf won’t watch it) and have to be in the right mood for a fright. Is this as bad as they say? Horror wise?
Oh right. That’s interesting. I’ve heard none talk about the story or the writing, or the acting. All I’ve heard is “it’s too scary”.
Just watched episode 8 and that's the first time it made me jump out of my chair lol. But the acting is good and if the story wasn't interesting I would have gave up on it ages ago. Some fans of the book might not have liked the changes they've made on the show though.
I'm enjoying THofHH. Often Very tense rather than out right scary. Though what is scary? (Poltergeist when I was about 10 yrs old, definitely, but as an adult?) I can rationalise that it's only make believe so it's not scary, but it does have some make you jump moments. Keep your eyes peeled though, there is plenty going on. bah!
I've watched the first 2 episodes. I love it. Typically early in this "disaster season where this club is a mess" Norwich...1 Sunderland...3
There is a lot of talk about how Netflix and Prime might me ruining Cinema and such. It sounds like there might be a Black Mirror Movie released on the 28th December. Which would be amazing. Even if that isn't true. The shock release of the next Cloverfield move on Netflix and no one knew about it until a few days before. I love that. Netflix and prime are 100% a good thing for TV ideas. Now, they are making a big impact on film. I am enjoying the shock release of films from a much loved franchise regularly.
I've only seen the first 2 episodes too, goes to show how bad we were last season to get beaten by them lol.
Think Cinemas is ruining themselves with the high ticket and food prices, but it is more convenient to just watch a film on Netflix/Amazon. I thought I remember reading the latest Cloverfield film was cancelled but Netflix saved it.
I have to say Netflix is still not brilliant at or for films. Box sets and series is another thing and having drawn us in with series maybe the next generation of movies from them will be better. I still like a cinema trip for a big special effects film. Star wars, Avengers etc just work big! But the prices are getting crazy. £20+ for the most all singing screens plus if you don't take your own, the drinks and snacks are crazy priced! Bah!
Yea, that is true about Cloverfield. If it was worth saving in the end or not is another thing. Need to watch that again with my lower expectations and see if it actually was all that bad.
We love a trip to the cinema, but this year we have struggled to find films worth the money to see. We want to go again before Christmas, and I think it's going to have to be the Grinch film. There's nothing else on. Not heard great reviews, but it's Christmasy, animated fun. Hopefully. If you don't like Superhero movies or transformers, you are pretty screwed these days.
Or sequels. The Rocky franchise had Creed 2, the fast and the furious must be up to number 469 by now, I loved the Bourne films and I reckon they'll ring at least one or two more out of it. MI films are still reasonable enough fun and I have really liked the recent bonds (Although they feel more like Bond does Bourne). Another godzilla to come too. On another genre, I hear there is an Anchor man 3 in the pipe line which might be good. I loved the first, second was still good but will the 3rd be any good? I'll wait and see. Bah!
Not seen Creed yet. It's on my list, but not watched it. I've heard really good things about Creed and Creed 2. So I will watch, but not yet.
I was mad for the first 2, the 3rd I was left a bit Meh. I have a feeling because of the concept, it is worth a second watch. Not an easy thing to accept in your brain with the rational we have. I was so excited when I heard about it. When I saw it I felt it wasn't great. I could have expected too much. Which is why I need to watch it again with lowered expectations.
