Just watched the first episode of ITV Detective Drama "Marcella" which aired in April. Brilliant first episode. Reminds me a bit of the bridge in feel and camera shots, and a bit of Luther. First episode sets it up perfectly for what looks like it will be a gripping Series.
Catching up with other threads to put off reading the less than agreeable football ones. Watched this when it was out originally, thought it was excellent. Likewise GM's #601 Peaky Blinders. In fact, that's one of my all-time favourites. Cillian Murphy is a terrific actor, and for a man from Cork, has an awesome Brummie accent! EDIT: I did persevere with another two episodes of 'Stranger Things' but wish I hadn't. I'm probably being unfair, because I'm not interested in Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and monsters and such, so probably not part of their target audience. It got lots of good reviews, so people who like that sort of stuff, like that one.
Haha. Bit much at times hey? We ended up watching 3 episodes of Marcella, and I thought all 3 episodes were fantastic. Peaky Blinders we have seen the first 2 series of, but have been saving series 3.
Almost finished watching Luke Cage, liking it better than Jessica Jones but Daredevil is still the better of the 2. Watched the first episode of Westworld yesterday on Sky Atlantic and I can tell this is a show I will like.
These Superhero/Marvel things come so thick and fast, and spin offs getting spin offs. I need a break from them, so have been putting off Luke Cage, didn't think it would be much cop. Good though? The trailers of Westworld looks like a film I would love to go and see. It does look stunning and interesting.
Netflix is building up to The Defenders, that's why there's spin offs to introduce the characters, basically what Marvel did with Iron Man and Captain America etc and them all coming together. But Luke Cage is a decent watch. Westworld is a remake of the 1973 film, it's a bit weird but really good.
I can't be bothered with the Avengers and the Batman group and stuff. All gets a bit stupid. Yea, I read it was based on a old film, never seen it though.
Just watched The Girl on the Train and have to say I quite enjoyed it at Cinema City. I'd worked out the 'whodunnit' quite a while before the end and I'd reccomend it.
The Taskmaster on Dave, only just discovered this and caught up with 2 series. One of the most fun shows I have seen in a while.
If you go a few times a year, it's worth becoming a member/joint member (no, I don't get commission!!), as you get some free tickets, as well as reduced admission prices on all films.
The Blacklist Season 3. Really good again. Has never been boring. Have 3 episodes left, but this seasons been great again.
Yes, the BBC excels at nature programmes and some of the filming is out of this world. Definitely a series to record!!!!
We want to watch the new Louis Theroux Doc, looking back on his time with Savile after the revelations. So we are watching the old one first because I watched it when it came out, but can't remember it. I'd forgotten just had annoying and totally insane he came across in that! Makes you shiver to watch.
