Fair play to you the young one. I'm always impressed with any QPR supporter born in the mid to late 80's as that meant that they would have started following the Rs in our dark days. No mean feat.
Fantastic thread (well done Kiwi) - every single post is a gem. Could we do some kind of desert island discs style thread too (since it feels practically like an international break at the moment)?
I think poor old Belfast could spend the rest of his life simply trying to get CB and Bob to admit to their latent sexual tensions. That's not to even mention the rest of us!!! :0)
Age: 36 Location: Merton Job: Lawyer Married (MRS Spurs fan), 4 kids (2 girls {both Spurs}, 2 boys {both R's!!}) P.S: SB, you've gotta be a charity collector, surely.
Great thread kiwi. Been away and been great to read all of these. I'm also student bringing the count up to three. Live in Wandsworth and played mostly rugby and cricket when I was a kid. My mums Scottish which led to the name and she did all she could to stop me playing football but it soon became apparent I wasn't going to be deterred. Dad didn't care much either just enough to not let me support Chelsea! First game was against tranmere rovers. Stevie palmer scored but we lost 2-1 in the dying minutes. Managed to convert a Chelsea mate who has now had a season ticket with me for the last four years and loves it. FootBalling pedigree extends to the 5's at the wandle in Wandsworth. Just got promoted in case you were interested! Although a coach once told me I'd be academy standard keeper if I wasn't so short...still struggling to hit 5'10" and I don't think I can hope for further growth spurts (sob).
Upon leaving school I immediately went into the business they call “show”, and so began a dizzying year-long period as the lead singer for a Chaka Demus and Pliers tribute act. Unfortunately a costly legal battle with Pliers left me bankrupt, and I was forced to live in a Bedford camper van just off the A23 near Purley Oaks for several years. However, it was during this time that I wrote my bestselling novel “It’s Good But It’s Not Right”, which traced the heroic exploits of swashbuckling adventurer and degenerate Rodney Walker, and his trusty side-kick and sex partner Chips the cat. Upon winning the Booker Prize in the category for “Best Gameshow-themed Smut” I was back in the big time again and was making a lot of money, most of which was squandered on snorting hookers and making love to drugs. I now live in semi-retirement, am learning the tin whistle and live as a woman. ….. Or; • Late 30s bloke • Two kids (one of each) • Live and work in west London and have been going to Loftus Road on and off since 81. .. Nice thread by the way!
here's something for the two of you then. Can't remember the game myself, was 2 months 11 days old... Me? 38, lived my whole life on Southern coast of Finland, Porvoo and Loviisa Work for the government Married, no children of my own (wifey on the other hand has 2, boy and girl, both grown ups, and my "stepson" has 2 kids, boy 2 ysr, girl 1) Played myself until 18, made it to regional team tryouts, was best scorer for couple years for my junior team QPR supporter from mid 80's, the game that really made me R's fan was QPR - ManUtd, that was televised here in late 80's, can't remember the exact year or even the score though. R's played really nice football, pleasure to watch.
Mid to late 80s? Pshhaw! Mid 90's! First game I remember going to is Port-Vale Vs. QPR where we drubbed them 4-1 I also remember watching the pitch be crowded by supporters when we were promoted from League one (And the Championship of course) Lived my whole life being told "QPR are s***e" and being the bottom of the food chain! I may not have been a supporter as long as some of you old codgers () But, darn, i make up for it in heart! I root for QPR to be golden again, to prove all the haters wrong, to begin a new era. At least you all experienced the first one, it's only fair that i should experience it too, so i dont need to listen to your grandma's tales the whole time!
You're a fraud aren't you? No-one under the age of 40 would use the word 'codger'. Quite enjoy your posts though, ageist though they are.
he had a support act called hinge and bracket and they came on stage at the end to form the doors!! waheyy!! I'll get my coat..
