Liked that a lot, Redruth, thanks for putting it up. Listened to Glen Campbell's version too, equally lovely.

May as well bring this thread back to try and distract us all from impending doom... The original by Daft Punk is pretty good, but I really like this 1-man cover of it. Let's hope Norwich can "Get Lucky" against West Brom!

Very pleasant little ditty for listening to in the car, Before you know it, you are in the country and all the silly traffic lights are gone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=EouoRCvg9EE
Liking that a lot Redruth. This is a weird vid of someone miming William Shatner doing Pulp.
.and from a collaborator on the last one, with a cameo from the lovely Máire Brennan of Clannad fame and sister of Enya (Brennan) - both, weirdly, distant relatives of mine : .
Nice. Definitely not enough violins used in music to create an atmosphere. That song is complemented beautifully by someone playing the violin sympathetically to create the atmsophere that JJ can't quite get to with his vocal range. Clannad were one of the last groups to use vocals and harmonies to enhance a song rather than a producer or bunch of session musicians or even samplers.
How can anyone say this isn't sheer magic http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=qIHfuihoz70
OOps nearly forgot. RIP one of the great working live performers http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=tf1B9ktRCkg
One for NCgandy. I told you how the violin is an undervalued instrument in rock/jazz. This is by no means the original Caravan line up I used to adore at the Gala but these guys have added a new clever slant on an old song of theirs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Z4yNI0_2RNA
The Doors RIP Ray Manzarek
The Doors, Roadhouse Blues... Awesome! OB on the stage and everything!
Terrific, thoughtful appraisal Redruth, really hope to see you on here again soon. Nice Doors stuff Wellie, enjoyed those. This is a bit of a foot-tapper, liked these guys a lot at the time:
