My attempt to educate some of you with post-hardcore and if you don't fancy that...
Well I got about 12 seconds into the first song, but I actually quite like Scroobius Pip, and that song has some lyrics which gel nicely with the "Swearing" Thread. Personally I really like the stuff he's done with Dan Le Sac, the Angels album is one of my favourites. In particular the song below, "Thou Shalt Always Kill" and "The beat that my heart skipped". There's a pretty dark song on that album too I quite like, but I can't remember the name of right now. that would be, I imagine 'Magicians Assistant' but not sure as I'm not fussed about the Dan Le Sac ones, I really like his spoken word version though! and I reckon I'll give up getting you guys interested in post-hardcore
Unlike DH, I got to about 30 seconds of 'La Dispute', but only because I couldn't find the stop button! I did enjoy the Scroobius Pip stuff though, so thanks for posting. There's always something new out there that I haven't heard, and, sometimes, that's a good thing.
haha you guys... that La Dispute song is my favourite song at the moment! A selection of other things I'm listening to these days... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ij6_SD9S74&feature=player_detailpage One of the 60's greatest bands. So you wanna be a rock and roll star a dig at the Monkees. Bells of Rhymney one of the great folk songs as well
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On9VqQsUA4U&feature=player_detailpage But this has to be my favourite folk song ever
No reason, just a favourite
Did like that Frightened Rabbit track Hairy, have to admit. I'm in my office at home working late, so it has to be something mellow - just now it's this:
Gandy, that's the first time I've heard that, it's beautiful, so difficult to sing and he does it flawlessly! Thank you!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=A5LI7eqfA6U A rather splendid version of the Van Gelis classic, a song from one of the best ever sci-fi movies Bladerunner.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=BydBT6pEqz4 And while we are on the movies theme, how about a really atmospheric piece from VanGelis used in a the brilliant end scene of Last of the Mohicans. Silent action with just this repetitive music building up the tension and drama. Priceless.
Sloop John B done properly...top lads, this lot... Excellent!
Give this a bump up and hopefully take a bit of discussion of Norwich. This is a great band at the minute, 'PEACE'
I played golf in the sunshine this morning. I'm going to play again this evening. And the missus is going to join me afterwards for a meal and drinkies on the clubhouse terrace. And the sun will set ovet the 1st hole. And I can't think of a better piece of music to be playing as I quaff my Guinness, http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=GJNAn2hb2Oo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ml1WKiIGqf4 A great song from the cult band of the early days. Summed up perfectly. Sad lyrics, beautiful melody. Poor old Glen Campbell did a great version just before he succumbed to Alzheimers.
