The great Sam Cooke, how wonderful is this:
Just came across this. The late Great Dudley Moore playing Colonel Bogey in the style of Beethoven. Pure Genius !!

Magnificent profile of David Bowie - warts n'all, on BBC 6 music. If you like DB, look out for the podcast, or iplayer repeats.
Listening to this whilst struggling with my year-end accounts, everyone else seem to be asleep, (although they could just be out enjoying themselves). If so, I hate you all! (I'm jealous and kidding)
Posting on another thread on this board earlier got me thinking about the best gigs that I've seen in Norwich, and this lot have to be up there with the best... The Fall...
Posting on another thread on this board earlier got me thinking about the bands that I regret never seeing play live... Here's the Spacemen 3... Awesome!
Football over for another week. Just listening to this forgotten gem from Steely Dan http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=BCGiG4rgx5I
And rather than watch Karaoke TV or to give it its real title The Voice, I found this wonderful and truly surprising little one http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=S9-xv5B9_WE
I know it's an oldie, but so am I, if anyone knows a song that he performed that wasn't a brilliant showcase of his talent, I would like to know! The man had so many tragedies in his life but never, ever gave a below par performance!
What I loved about the Big O was most of his songs started so quietly and built to a crescendo, a bit like Bolero does Rock. His voice was almost operatic at times.
Have some stuff by this lady. My favourite is her wonderful version of the Sinatra classic Summer Wind. I wonder what her heart rate is? About the same as a hibernating hedgehog.
Terrific quote! She does a few Leonard Cohen covers, which seem perfect for her. Searching around, I've come across this guy, wonderful. I'm really getting in to this jazz stuff. Football may be crap at the moment, but I've pulled some positives from this forum! Another classically trained musician which helps enormously with a "good ear". Certainly an eclectic style. Nice.
Great suggestion from Rubik's Tube on another thread for a new National Anthem, Dreadzone's Little Britain... Love this tune!
On a related note this is a brilliant song, although it probably wouldn't make a good National Anthem ("You must be somewhere in London; you must be loving life in the awful rain")...
