That's some serious waves!...seen similar in Maui, but it's a bit warmer there!...

None of the beaches here will be able to hold that size, so it will be a maelstom of storm surf. Add in 60 mph winds too, it will be a big mess. There might be a few sheltered spots that will light up. I'll go and check. But that wind speed is way too high, even in sheltered coves.

When were you in Maui ? I'm planning a trip to Hawaii next year.

It was when we lived in the states, mate. Friends of ours had a condo at Wailea, spent a couple of weeks there. Serious waves!...

Nice. I'm doing another big trip before my little one starts school. There's a cheap route to San Francisco via Reykjavik with WOW airlines, so we're planning on a few days in Iceland (hoping to see the Northern lights) then a week or so in San Francisco and Marin County. Then onto Hawaii, not sure where yet. It's cheapest to fly from SF to Honolulu, but I'd like to see Kauai.

Maui has some famous big waves spots, Peahi being the most prominent. There are only a handful of guys who can surf those kind of waves. When I go, we'll be surfing baby waves with my little one. But when in Rome, one must sample the local delights too ...

Just found a program started on ITV3 called "The Mafia with Trevor McDonald".

It's got the Mafia, it's got Trevor McDonald, what's not to like. Just as I switch on to it, I hear the Gambino family... winner I'm hooked <ok>

What's it all about?

Apparently it's good but I reckon it looks a lot like it'll be **** American bollocks.

Sell it to me.

Its basically an exploration of society and politics, and its realistic portrayal of urban life. Lost interest after the 1st series but it has been critically acclaimed in the USA. Soprano's and Breaking Bad so much better if you haven't viewed.
