One of the secondary schools I went to had a mushroom field adjoined to it, a really good field too.

Spent many a day sat in an English lesson thinking I should be a cartoon character being taught by a cartoon character.

I was too unruly to be sent on work experience so they kept me in the school to help with the PE lessons. First day of work experience I did a 1000 cup brew to myself, some fat kid playing indoor football proper ****ed my head up, literally thought I was with the Michelin man.

Used to travel to Holland just to bring back bottles of pure LSD, then make my own blotters.

Haven't tripped for about 15 years, but trust me I smashed the ****ing living daylights out of it back in the day.

Have you done the DMT experience?

I haven't but I am going to. They recommend that you indulge at specialist centres (I think they are in South America), because the experience is life-changing, and you can need counselling. I'm told that it doesn't work like other hallucinogens.

Yes many times. Usually in some nearby woods. No need to go to South America ffs <laugh>

It's not life changing. It's basically the power of 100 trips hitting you at once but only lasting about 10 minutes (feels like hours though). Also no comedown whatsoever.

My best experience was being invited for dinner with a cave man family. **** was sooo real, unbelievable tbh, I can still vividly remember it now.

I've also flown across the Pacific ocean on the back of a butterfly. Seriously not lying, crazy ****ing stuff.

I have smoked DMT on several occasions. It's basically a synthesis of ayhausca, an halloucinogenic used in traditional shamanic cultures in South America. You smoke it in a glass pipe and it's got a smell very similar to the leaves of the wayfaring tree.

If you are serious about doing it. I would suggest you make sure you are with people you trust and know what they are doing. It is intense although very short lived. When you smoke it, you basically leave this dimension for a few seconds / minutes into a massively fractal world.

It's very hard to describe, and kind of inhabits a place where language as we know it breaks down, but the best analogy I could come up with is if you've ever taken LSD, then consider that to be a 2D drawing on a page compared to DMT which is like stepping into a multidimensional version of that drawing.

I'd also recommend reading a book called 'Food of the Gods' by Terrence McKenna if want some ethnobiological background on the substance.

    ^^^^100% verified DMT user.

I used to smoke mine in a little Hennessy crack pipe, smash a hole in the bottom and fill the top up with wire mesh. DMT then just melts into the wire.

A friend of mine was a bit of a medicine man and used to travel to South America regularly and would often come back with little pots of interesting things to smoke and make into brews. He introduced me to DMT around 15 years ago. I have to say, I loved it.

I'd taken a lot of acid in my teens and 20's and had some pretty amazing insights into the interdependent nature of 'stuff' that we call reality and the edges of understanding where there aren't the words to describe what you're seeing/experiencing.

But DMT is a whole other thing altogether. I remember the first time i smoked it, feeling my hands melting away and then being propelled full tilt into a multidimensional fractal world inhabited by other 'beings'. I had no idea how long I was there, by came 'back' sometime later (i think it was only a minute literally 60 seconds) and finding myself curled up on the floor. I was trying to explain to the other people in the room what I'd seen, but as I say language just doesn't do it justice.

I truly believe if you've ever had DMT, then it changes you forever. For me it was for the better, but I can see how it could really mess up somebody who is psychologically fragile.

They used to call it businesmans trip, because you could smoke it in your lunch break and be back to normal to return to work <ok>

Interesting. I agree it's one of those things that is so hard to describe unless you've done it.

A couple of times I haven't reached the stage where you completely lose touch with the real world. I remember sitting there knwoing what was going on (kind of) and it was almost like I was in a 6D world, bizarre as ****.

The times (mostly tbh) when I've broke through is seriously crazy, all concept of time and being is lost. The cave man thing I said earlier was so real it's hard to explain. I was literally taken back to 10,000 BCE for what appeared to be about 1 day - in reality it was about 2 minutes.

But yeah NO comedown so I pop out the woods, pipe in pocket looking as fresh as I was before I went in.

Crazy stuff and should be taken seriously. Luckily I've always enjoyed it, but I can imagine how bad it would be if your head wasn't straight and you had a break through into some kind of nightmare.

Use with caution anyone reading this!!

Good to chat with somebody else who 'knows' that place where you break through. <ok>

Yep all concepts of time, space, ego, reality completely deconstructed. Not for those with a fragile mind.

One thing I never touched. When I was in the music business it ****ed up too many people I knew, some of them permanently.

There is definitely a 'line' when it comes to psychedelics. For some people they never come back. I know a few acid casualties too. For me however it's been a revelatory and transformative experience.

Too true. I used to knock about with a 15 stone black dude, crazy ****er that could eat drugs with the best of them.

One day he did a microdot (used to love those ****ers) and he never returned. He did stuff like chase black cats and chants Psalms in the middle of town on a bathmat.

He set up a karate club (no one joined) but he thought he was teaching 100's of people karate, he didn't even know karate himself!!

Last I heard of him he was a body builder using steroids to the max, I saw a pic and he looked like Arnie in his hay day. I could see by his eyes in the pic he wasn't the same John as we knew back in the day. Very sad tbh as he was one of the lads, real talk.

Luckily I got out unscathed (I think :bandit:). Tbh that was only the start of my journey, very lucky to be alive. But I won't go too much further into detail!!

Basically Acid was only my starter dish.

Yeah they were like flints. Tricky little ****ers to handle!

At the time though probably the best trips you could get.

  18. I know someone who has done DMT a few times. He takes trips out to some commune in the South American jungle every so often, and immerses himself in the whole experience. He says he ingests the stuff as a tea and that it takes an hour or so for it to work into his blood stream. All the while, he is sitting with trained people who are steeped in the myths and rituals that surround the tribal beliefs - all to do with connecting with dimensional beings, effectively.

He tells me that the experience changed his life in a way that he cannot explain, other than it helped him to make sense of his life and his place in the Universe.

I asked him if he thinks its something I should do, and he reckons that it's something that everyone should do!

@Skylarker I hear what you say about "not having to go to South America" to do DMT, but it is illegal in this country, and most other Western countries, and I cannot afford to get caught doing anything illegal. Also, I am told that the way that DMT works is not like other hallucinogens, and that the counselling aspect is considered to be very important, which is what these communes provide.

That would be Ahyuasca, the traditional psychedelic brew made from indigenous plants used by shamans.

Dimethyltriptamine is the psychoactive compound on the plants that is synthsised into DMT that you can smoke.

Meh, you can stick hallucinogenic drugs up yer arse (Sky probably already has in fairness :) )

I'll stick to a nice bottle of red and the occasional Cuban these days.

I used to smoke green like it was going out of fashion btw, and for me it did. I got bored of it and haven't had a spliff for about 8 years I reckon.
