Easily very very good at possession, can't even remember a game where we lost that stat. But not very sure at the back and still lacking in the final third. One stat said it all in the United game : 10% in attacking third 65 % in middle third 25% in defensive third.

We're very good at passing the ball sideways. Very bad at defending.

The space that we leave between midfield and defence is scary and we can't break from defence for toffee......due to the only thing that we're good at. I don't believe the we're building hype; it's awful tactically, just bloody terrible....any other top club and Rodgers would be out......lucky bastard....

First half was dire. Played with fear and made far too many mistakes. What worried me wasn't the amount of times we lost the ball but the amount of times we lost the ball in KEY areas. Man Utd could and should have punished a lot sooner.

Second half was a massive improvement - Allen got stuck in and I could see that passion. But our attack was completely transformed once Sturridge came on (well probably about 10 mins after he came on). For once, I'm actually not worried about the front 3.

My concern is the midfield. Lucas in his prime would still be outnumbered and we would still concede goals. Brendan needs to change this - 2 holding midfielders are needed in this formation as we commit far too many men. In the 4-3-3, we have front 3 , the 2 full backs, and 1-2 CM's all attacking. That only leaves the Skrtel, Agger and Lucas defending.

Credit to Brendan for making the changes at half time. Got it completely wrong in the first place by not playing Henderson from the off but was quick to rectify it (45 mins is relatively quick).

Agree with Kenny King on this, don't buy into this building nonsense either. BR comes with a 180 page dossier about football and can't set a team up to compete against physically strong teams like Stoke or against United, who have been asked more questions this season regards defense and we struggled to ask them the time!

Rodgers needs to work on the basics, and get things right first time. How often would a United side of the past relished playing against us yesterday? We were lucky they weren't on full form

I think it's a case of Rodgers playing a system he wants to use for years and years, and forcing it up on the wrong personnel.

For the short term, perhaps he should be playing a system that is right the players he has at his disposal.
