Nope, more like 9,500. LUST said they're only about 800 off reaching as many members as Leeds has ST holders. Just because they pay Bates £500-700 a season doesn't make them a better Leeds fan than others, so I don't understand what point you're trying to make at all. And I'm blaming fans for not acting in general. In my opinion, the best action would have been to join the Trust and protest, but if fans acted in other ways to improve the club by ridding it of Bates, I wouldn't think blame should be apportioned to any extent. At times, a majority of the Kop has joined in with this, but fans at home games haven't been nearly vocal enough. It's got to the point now at midweek games where if you try singing, you get looked at as if you've just whipped out a Man U banner. Again, how would fans of Dortmund, Lille and Brno have reacted? With proper passion and fervour, that's my bet. Only some Leeds fans can claim that as their reaction to Bates. Others who are anti-Bates didn't act on their convictions. Well they continue to achieve good, so I can't see how it's been ruined in the slightest.
