You are in delusion if you think that SAF left because he seen a declining team. This was a team that won the title in a canter last season, and had more points than any other side in PL history by the turn of the year. A team declines over years and years, it doesn't all of a sudden go from winning the league with ease to mid table mediocrity.

The reason the team is so bad, Is purely down to losing SAF. You think Liverpool where top at Xmas with 36 points, SAF would have been well off into the sunset on well over 40 points had he been around, just as he was the year before

Not sure even Fergie would have done that well this year. After all you have had your fair share of injuries to what were key players last year, Rooney, VP, Rio and Vidic and all the current top 4 have been massively better than last season.
That being said Moyes has certainly lost you points this season but the same was being said about BR in his first season at Liverpool. The difference this year is that BR is now playing to the teams strengths rather than his own personal preference of possesion football, If Moyes can do the same next season I think we will see a vastly improved utd team.

SAF always had a way of coping, and keeping us involved in the title race, even if we had injuries. His teams always had amazing resilience, and we're masters at grinding out the victories when we weren't at our best. Even in the seasons we've lost out on the title in recent years we where there or there abouts , losing by 1 point to Chelsea and on goal difference to City. You also have to factor in that SAF probably would have bought better than just Fellaini in the summer, so may have had quality replacements for the injuries we've had this season

Maybe, maybe not. Fergie did well because he knew his players so well many of whom he trained from a young age with the strengths he thought the team needed. In that sense taking over a Man utd isn't like taking over a rich club with a first team of mega stars, its a finely balanced machine and a small change can put a spanner in the works.
Moyes doesn't have the necessary knowledge of his team in order to get it firing and the lack of individual performers(VP/Rooney your only real game changers have been poor) means you haven't turned up to a lot of games. Give Moyes time and he will improve, the only other way is to get a new manager and give him 200m for a new team.

Neil Warnock? Even Neil Kinnock would be an improvement!

So here's a question; we know how good fergie is at mind games. What if Moyes' spectacular fall had been planned all along to make transition to next real manager easier?

Now Van Gaal, AVB, Woy Hodgeson, whoever, can come to United free of the real stress of being Fergies successor.

Appointing DM was an inspired move by the tactical master. ;)

Bringing back Fergie now would be like failing to replace say Paul Scholes and then having to coax him out of retirement. Would never happen.....

The Paul Scholes thing worked though, so no need to mock it. Some where even begging for him to come out of international retirement for Euro 2012, as the Lampards and Gerrards of this world, find it impossible to retain possession at international level
