agree there dai, the workers never get acknowlegment, when i was in the army my adjutant had written up his own nomination for an award, order of australia medal, whole award system is a fking joke

Could one of the mods please close this thread if people are so insistent on just abusing fellow members.

What should have been a good debate has as usual been taken over by the usual suspects .

For some time now I have secretly regarded you as a semi-literate buffoon,but not wanting to offend you,usually kept out of the threads that you were involved in.

I wanted to spare your feelings by saying nothing.

Personal attacks again! I feel I'm a lone voice on here trying to stop all this, getting really fed up with it all, wish our Mods were more active, but that clearly is not going to happen, Dai you've complained enough regarding this, and Vetch I'm surprised at your response, not like you to resort to such language, maybe one day I'll get through to everyone, though it does seem like an up hill struggle, there was something to be said for the old BBC mods!....................

 

While I've always found it difficult to understand why Univeristies hand out Honourary Degrees, I have to say that I'm glad that they do. Otherwise, some pillars of the community would go without recognition. Everyone knows that these degrees are an award for achievement and have no academic relevance.

Personally, I'm delighted that HJ is getting this recognition, afterall he is a local man who has kept the club he loves on the straight and narrow after seeing them nearly go to the wall.This was a tough ask given where they were when he came onboard.

The Swans climb up the leagues was the result of RM's prowess as a manager and HJ's business acumen. This partnership created a legacy that lives on and an ethos both on and off the pitch.

Dai, as for HJ's earlier misfortunes in his business ventures, you have to remember that these unfortunate events occured within the building industry, an in industry that historically suffers first and worst in recessions.

It's a shame that this thread descended into abuse. Regardless of what anyone thought about the motives of the OP, there was a chance to have a good debate.
