Some facts that back up Laudrup compared to Rodgers. Goals scored under Laudrup 47 Goals scored under Brenden 44 but 5 of them were penalties !! The actually tally of goals scored from open play is 39 ! Am important fact here is the amount of goals scored in the second half of games . Under Laudrup 33 Under Brenden 23 Telling us that teams found it harder to nullify our threat under Laudrup than they did Brenden, this fact proves that Laudrup was a lot harder to counter act tactically than Rodgers was ! it also points to our fitness not being as shabby as we previously thought!
As we all know (except for Dai) possession means **** all if you don't score! and scoring goals is the hardest part of top flight football. Forget about all the bullshit about keeping the ball for a long time, its useless if you cant do anything with it! Our approach has been more high risk this season and it needed to be!! if we actually did go out and play like Brenden we would be relegated without a doubt! teams worked us out last season of that we were all in agreement. Its the reason why Brenden changed the way Liverpool played,he went back to what they know and as a result of that it nullified the likes of Joe Allen!! I cant believe somebody that knows so many FACTS cannot see it !! I also had it good authority that Rodgers went away from his style of play at Liverpool because he was going to be out of a job at Xmas if he carried on, he quickly sacrificed Joe Allen and returned to a more functional/basic way of playing. There were 2 reasons for this. 1. The players were not comfortable with the ball 2. He had been worked out by other prem teams who looked at Swansea and knew how he played. Laudrup had to implement a new way of playing otherwise we were sunk! he did that and did it well, Rodgers struggled to change his way but was smart enough to realise that if he didn't he would be picking up his p45
Lets get serious here and not try and point score....are you happy with the number of points we achieved in the second half of the season because if you are then thats fine but its in relegation mode. Did you love the way we use to dominate everyone with our fast triangle passing and beating big teams that got us so much publicity all over the world. or do you like players playing out of position with long passing that gets intercepted most of the time and not winning many games.... would you like a manager who can motivate his players and out fox his opposite manager, or like we have now a big name with no motivating skills whatsoever and cant pass on how to finish like he could and is making to many excuses for his failings every single week...he can talk the talk but as results are showing cant walk the walk....The moans and groans on sunday spoke volumes and it wont be in our best interest if he carries on playing his way next season....Me i can see whats coming as i dont ignore his failings and the reason we have been so poor for nearly all of the second half of the season, I cant i have been a supporter for far to long to ignore the facts.......Im praying jinks will have a word and he gets back to the way we play best because we will be relegated by xmas playing this kind of rubbish....
Second half of the season ? yes absolutely Fast triangle passing ? when ? its easy to dominate teams if you don't risk trying to score a goal and believe me when I say there were many that saw it as a bit negative when having 60% possession and losing 0-2 !! Not winning many games ? We won Approx 18 games under Laudrup and about 13 under Brenden in all competitions Laudrup lost less games in the Prem league than Rodgers, FACT. Out foxing the opposition manager ? please see the stats above Dai, the opposition manager going in at half time didn't know how to stop us,thats where we scored most of our goals, so in fact it was Laudrup doing the out foxing I cant see where your basing your argument from Dai, how about dealing in the facts ?? Brenden finished the season well overall, but started it slower. Laudrup started the season better but ended it slower! There isn't a lot between them apart from a higher place finish, more wins for Laudrup and a major trophy win for the first time in a 100yrs !!
And yet you still pander to Dai, thinking you can encourage him into a factual debate!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUCGBNHpyBI&feature=youtube_gdata_player
How do you know it's bollox if you've got him on ignore, Dilli? If you don't know what he said then you're just being rude. Take your pick. Dai's post is Swans related and he has a point. Whether you agree or not is another matter.
Yes i do have a point that there are many with the same conclusion, even leighton james is worried we have lost our playing style that has won us many admirers.....we had a fantastic first half of the season it was brilliant, our second half leaves a lot to be desired and im sorry you have to look at the big picture and question why! Something has made us look good but cant produce the results we were getting and its so plain to see that a blind man can see why.....Why has ML changed a winning formula that all the players were comfortable with to one where we can hardly buy a win and the same fans on here saying this player is rubbish and that player is rubbish when the truth is these were the same players who were brilliant before this long ball and long passing crap ruined things...you can call me all the names you want but results in the second half of the season is proving my point and something needs to be done and ML does not give me any confidence that he is capable of keeping us up next season....
Hi Dai In all honesty would you get rid of Laudrup now? Or would you give him the start of next season. I wouldn't say I'm in an way part of a Laudrup love-in but he does have my backing 100% Just curious as to what you would do if it was your decision to make....looking towards Poyet perhaps?
Can we please not have sly digs at fellow posters, who have some people on ignore. They have done this, as they don't want to get embroiled in any arguments, please respect this.
No i wouldn't but i would only give him 6-8 games at the start of the season and if we are in the same mode of win one and lose 3 or 4 then in reality we wont be able to afford to keep him. Im hoping he will listen to someone as the powers at the top cant fail to see what i and many others are worried about for next season and we get back to what we do best......so no i dont want him to go unless we are still playing this long ball/ passing rubbish that others are finding is so easy to deal with...
Last years winning formula is this seasons losing formula, ask your mate Rodgers The fact your using Leighton James to back up your argument is the perfect reason for me to assume you are boardering on complete madness. You and Leighton believe what you want, I and many others look at the way the team performs over a season and will make informed comments on that. Leighton James is a drunk, who while being a good player knows absolutely **** all about about football! ask him how he got on as a coach of Llanelli, aberdare,Port Talbot 6th form college and who ever else was unlucky enough to buy into his crap.
all these giving abuse just don't understand this is a debate...Its what forums are for and if you dont agree thats fine but i would love to know your points on why my points are irrelevant and rubbish......tell us all what made this second half of the season so good that you dont have a slightest bit of worry that this could not be our last season in the premiership....Im giving you my reasons why we may have problems so instead of trying to be clever to your mates with abuse and give your reasons why we had a bad 2nd half of the season and finished on a low...
As an aside Laudrup was voted mnager of the season by Guardian journalists with 6 picking him as first choice. Michu also voted signing of the season. Itay sadly missing from flop of the season!!!...(his goal against Wigan must have made him safe!!) http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/may/20/premier-league-review-football-writers
